If you recall, Hos, we've talked about H&M Landing before. I've fished out of there several times. GREAT fishing...

This monster was taken out of H&M Landing...

I do remember.

We were talking about trying to get a whole group together and then head up the coast to Training Camp. Man that would be a blast.

My favorite part of the whole trip was the last day when we hit 10 foot swells. This is the boat we were on.

http://www.hmlanding.com/boats/biggame.htm

At one point I was sitting across the front of the boat where the anchor is and you see the black nose. I was hanging onto the anchor rigging and riding the boat up and down the swells. The spray was great and I was soaking wet. My nephew was sea sick and throwing up. I was laughing.

Damn that was fun.

They have showers right on the boat. It's a great time.

I find dynamite works best. :D
The Fish & Game Commission uses electricity here. True story. They "shock" the fish to stun them and then they float to the surface. After a few minutes they recover and swim away. That is how they try to count the fish and do studies on them.

I assume that if you are going to Ink's Lake , that you are going to the State Park ? I fish there and Lake Buchanan on a pretty regular basis . Ink's is a small lake and easily covered by a canoe . You can rent them for the day at the State Park store . The water is still cold and the black bass are still a little slow there . A red crank bait works real well in spring for black bass on these waters especially in a crawfish pattern . The white bass are also beginning to spawn and will be trying to run up river toward the Devil's Waterhole . For them your standard white and chartreuse crappie jigs as well as a silver spoon work well .

If you're going to be that close to Marble Falls , make sure you stop and have breakfast at the Bluebonnet Cafe . It's freaking awesome !

Our cabin was 6'6" x 6'6" x 6'6" and slept 6. No joke. 2 bunks on the floor, 2 more 2 feet above that, and 2 more 2 feet above that, with the ceiling 2 feet above the top bunks.

Hell, in the Navy, they call that a "State Room"!!!

;)

I didn't care how big the room was. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out. That slow rocking motion of the boat was like mama's arms.

The other guys all complained that I snored. :D

I was in Colorado Bend hiking just a few weeks ago , but didn't fish . It's a beautiful little park with some nice spring fed waterfalls and swimming holes up the Spice Wood Creek area . It is a very good time to fish there as well . The white bass run up from Lake Buchanan into the Colorado River and are excellent . It does get way crowded with people though . It's a good place to go for a shore fisherman though , and there is a lot of easily accessible areas .
