Official Jason Garrett Thread **merged**

Drew pearson said they should have run the ball on 3rd and 2, and if you dont get it run it again, I agree.
They could have ran the ball to the outside instead of the spike and run out of bounds.
and with that much time why worry about the clock?
All they did was save time for rodgers winning drive.

Dallas seriously needs to keep a 4 down mentality at all times when you have the back and OL we have..

If it's 3rd and 2 then just run it and if you don't get it you're most likely a QB sneak away from a first.

exactly, but they pass, and if inc then punt or fg ! lol
They have best rb in nfl, and give him only 22 carrys and 1 pass in this the biggest game of season ??
They dont know how to use what they have .

Clock became a factor and running running chew clock so that is why we stopped giving him the ball as much.

Had we ever got a stop and not fell behind 21-3 im sure we would've pounded it.

I just his speech about fight

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/no-con...s-next-season-for-dak-prescott-042059330.html

“We talk a lot about the word ‘fight,’ ” coach Jason Garrett said. ” ‘Fight’ is an important word for us. It’s the foundation of our entire program. It’s fighting to be your best. It’s fighting to live up to the standards that have been set – high standards. And, maybe most importantly, it’s about fighting for each other.”

Sorry but I find this stuff Hollow and something out of a cliche book when you put them in the hole where they have to "fight."

Agreed. Its really nothing. He praises hard work and "fight." This is the NFL, every coach preaches that. All teams "fight." Desire and effort is rarely the difference between winning and losing in the NFL.

Zero confidence in Garrett after that final drive. Great regular season, but he's not a playoff/under-pressure coach.

Time for a change or I see Dak and Zeke being wasted just like Romo/Witten have been. Doesn't matter how many great drafts we have. This was the perfect opportunity. Wasted.

In the end, you are left here questioning many of the decisions made yesterday. That doesn't mean he should be fired (he doesn't at this point) but it does beg the question if he's really the guy to get us where we want to go.

I think Garrett answered the question yesterday. But as long as Jerry keeps Garrett, and he will, then this team will suffer from a major game management deficit as long as he is here. And in today's NFL, bad coaching is fatal. The Patriots are the poster child for how important coaching is in the NFL. The Pats overachieve relative to their overall talent due to their coaching and we underachieve due to our coaching.

A lot of teams would've rolled over and died down 18 points in a playoff game. That the Cowboys fought back and actually made up the difference says a lot about the character of this team.

I think Garrett is here to stay. There are realistically no better candidates out there. Unless McDaniels is available next year.

We likely would have won if we had played like we were 4 down territory in the first half while in Packer territory.

REDVOLUTION said:
1. Team was not ready.
2. Left 4 points out there.
3. Spiked ball too soon.
4. Left too much time on clock in the process.
5. Add something here.........
5. Allowed his OC to deviate from what got the team 13 wins.

LOL lets extend him and give him a raise, now before he gets away !!!!!!! continuity stability !!
continuity........ lose every div round game he is involved in!! lol this is great, kinda like marvin in Cin
stability........ keep making same mistakes over and over, same predictable offense and defense.

sadly yes, jerry passed on quinn cause he has JG the clapper, and on kyle shanahan , cause JG likes linehan.
McDaniels is who jerry should try to get as a HC, and let him hire a new staff , and do what he wants, and have a say in the draft and FA.
He has worked with bill long enough to learn some bill stuff, and would be way better than JG and our current staff.

I have to say if they got him for next year, I would be really excited, but if it is just
our same coaches again, I wont be too excited, as I know how it will end.
Games will be fun to watch, but we play harder divisions next year, so dont expect 13-3
again, right now I say 11-5 or 10-6.
I would bring in josh, and ask him does he want romo for one year to test drive,
and then if he wants to go with romo over dak let him.If not then go ahead and let romo go.

I think after having a year off, Romo may be ready for a good year, and he has all offseason
too, he will be feeling better than ever by next sept.

He looked good in his phil showing.

I think they should give him next year, as one last shot, partly because I dont think
Dak will do as good next year, and he would bkup tony, and if tony gets hurt , no big deal.
But with JG I think he prefers Dak over Romo so I doubt Romo gets his shot.
I really dont see the problem with giving Romo one last year do or die, and lets find out
what he can do with elliot etc.
I think Dak needs more work anyway and he isnt going anywhere .
