Official Kool-Aid Thread

Theres a smart way to spen the money and Jerrys way. Throwing money at teams doesnt buy champions. Parcells is buying time to build this team after ten years of bad goods. Its just not fast enough for the fans.
Ten years of bad goods? Only nine years ago we won a Super Bowl.

But even though teams like the Bengals have had decades of bad goods yet turned it around... Go ahead and blame Jerry. ABB.

Now for what it's worth, Parcells is a good coach and we could do a lot worse. But this Teflon Coach act is silly.

Ok, I'm a Kool-Aid drinker. I've never seen such classless whining loser fans as this board (or the other Cowboys boards). Geez, at least when the Skins got blown out by the Giants, the folks at Extremeskins still believed & supported the team.

So I'll point this out. The team is already at 8 wins. That means no losing season. Do you realize that's only the SECOND time in SIX seasons that's happened?
Abso-frikin-lutely :(

How are these teams that are up and coming doing it? Are they finding bargain basement players? Who was our best QB since Troy? RB since EMMITT? How many pre Parcells draft choices are still here or for that matter or still even in the NFL?
So excuse me, for seven years we have been buying bad goods.

But JJ didnt do any thing to help the future of the franchise during that last SB run either buy having any one to build with. No coach fixes this mess that quickly.

Hmmm...not sure where you think I am giving Parcells a telfon coating.

I guess you missed the part where I said from the top down.

If you got hate for parcells then so be it...but it does not take away Jerrys hand in this mess.

The Teflon was more for KM, Dave-in-NC, and the others who think Parcells is completely above reproach, BP.

And I don't hate Parcells at all. I just think that blaming Jerry for the last three years because of mistakes he may have made many years ago is unjustified.

Nor am I saying hes beyond reproach. You have to see what he was handed to, so yeah I blame JJ more so, but I like the direction we are heading way more than pre Parcells. No one hits on every player, but JJ hit on so few.

Are you saying Parcells is an untouchable? Is that what you're saying? ;)

A hall of fame coach, 32 million Dollars in FA money, 3yerars to get a handle on this team and where has it got us....10-6, 6-10 and now 8-6 looking at 9-7 or quit possibly 8-8...Wow I'm impressed, how much longer do we have to wait to see the this magical plan work... Campo could of gotten us to 8-8 if JJ would of let him spend 32 million.....

exactly, how long are we going to keep saying next year, next year, next year......i'm sick of it. it's hard to be patient when every offseason you have a long list of needs to take care of, only to find new holes.

what washed up players is Bill bringing in next year?

Hey you just stick to your bledsoe hate and stay out of this one. ;) :D

If we had drafted a good QB to groom under troy those last couple of years...we would have not wasted time on QC, Hutch...not worry about Henson or Romo and we would not have had Vinny or Bledsoe here.

If we would not have squandered 1st round picks by trading them for players like galloway or trading down because we were only interested in getting backups, not future starters, we would not be in this mess.

We would have a greater base of players from the start.

Sorry...Jerry has to take credit for this mess...and even if you dislike Bill, the players he brought in, the players he let go, the coaches he let go or brought in....always remember..Jerry signs the checks and Jerry has final say on every person brought in or let go.

So I'll point this out. The team is already at 8 wins. That means no losing season. Do you realize that's only the SECOND time in SIX seasons that's happened? (Guess when the other time was--oh yeah, under the same coach everyone is so happily bashing right now.) There's no reason the team can't end up 9-7 or even 10-6.

The defense got a lot of young players over the offseason who will contribute for a long time. They've gotten invaluable learning experience. They'll be even better next year, particularly with some seasoning. It'll be the OL that gets overhauled this offseason. And yes, probably some assistant coaches go bye-bye.

I find it hilarious that so many posters on this board were bashing Parcells on Saturday over an unsubstantiated rumor that he may go to Detroit. Now those same fans want him gone.

Just out of curiousity--Holmgren has been coaching in Seattle how long now? Oh yes, 6 years. It's taken him that long to build up a team that's a solid contender. Hmmm--but Parcells is a bum & a loser because he hasn't done it in three.

And Dungy has had Manning for how long? And all of a sudden they're looking vulnerable. Guess who's looking like a contender again--the Patriots WITH BP's players (like, ahem, Bruschi) back. I'm willing to bet they're in the AFC Championship game against the Colts. So Dungy must be a loser too, right? Since he didn't get them to the Super Bowl in 3 years?

Yes, this was a very disappointing loss. Hopefully, the players will learn from it. One other little item to think about--last week, the Chargers lose to Miami. At home. This week, they beat the Colts. In Indy. Anything can happen on any given Sunday.

amen!!!!!!!!!!!

That mistake has been haunting this franchise for more than a decade and why we have not righted this wrong is a travesty.

Dadgummit I get so mad when I think about this .... Heck it's been 6 months...it's time for me to start another thread concerning this subject. :)

Go Kitty. It's hard to even read this board after a loss, cuz of all the *****ing and moaning that goes on. This is the first game all year we haven't had a chance to win. Quit your crying, and move on. Team's get blown out. It happens. It's one thing to criticize and point out what you think could be done, it's another to advocate wholesale changes and firing's across the board. Get real. This is a young team, that has a chance to go 10-6.

True. But think about it in perspective. Could our timing be any worse? Think about it.

Team's get blown out. It happens.

It happens in big games like this to teams as well. Losing ones.

A loss like this should show the systemic issues that exist.

We don't have a team full of professionals who can motivate themselves and be depended upon to play smart in big games. If you go looking for silver linings, you lose that perspective.

Message boards are really pretty therapeutic for people who need to vent. Why get mad at those who choose to use this forum for that purpose. No one forces anyone to read any thread on this board. You choose to because of some of the great discussions which are held by our members.

That said, I don't seem to see as much moaning and groaning after this loss as I have after other losses. There's a huge amount of disappointment being displayed, but I saw alot more cussing and fussing after the FIRST skins loss than this one.

There are alot of well-thought out threads being posted and very little "I hate BP" threads. What I see is alot of people coming to the realization that this team isn't quite there yet. This process is called acceptance. Allow them to go thru it and be patient. The team gets a 24-hour rule, cannot the fans?

That said, I'm not drinking koolaid today, it's too tart.

Our timing COULD have been worse, but not much. I believe a loss like this shows nothing. You get beat that bad, you just move on. That is not indicative of the kind of team you are. It's a fluke. An anomoly. There's no silver lining in the loss, but I don't believe you can draw definitive conclusions from it either.
