Who's faster: Mays or Holliday?

I don't care if you list them both at 6.59.

But to have Holliday listed with a better time than Mays just make me second guess the entire process.
So I see you did not read my post.

They were not running at the same time and that data splicing to get visualization is not accurate enough to tell you who is where and when...it is a simulated guess.

You or I may not like the process, but it is more accurate now than than ever before...just not when you are looking at a made-for-tv teleprompterish toy. That looks cool but that's about it.

So it's a conspiracy theory of Rich Eisen calling out his employer to make them look stupid.

Does that make any sense to you?

:laugh1:

Stop being in denial.

He ran faster than Holliday.

Yeah. And it's wrong.

I could care less if it stays that time.

The visual evidence shows him running faster than Holliday.

I just wonder why they are 136 reports of times and then the official one comes out and it's always different.

I think this system if extremely flawed.
Same here.

.

:hammer:

There are too many variables to think that this image is a realistic representation...for example, the camera operator may be different, the speed at which the camera is moving may different...just because they're edited on top of each other does not mean that everything is realistic

Its a digital copy not a splice of a analog tape. You don't know what you're talking about. Are you suggesting they removed frames or increased the framerate?

Of course it's digital...good grief Fuzzy. And of course I don't think anyone was deliberately altering the data. Hence the black helicopter tongue-in-cheek.

Anyway, I've since learned that the NFL does not do this thing totally the way I thought they did---which was totally electronically like they do in the Olympics....I guess I could have figured that out but I assumed they were more advanced. It turns out that a stop watch is still used at the start and only the finish is what I would consider truly electronic. So there is more room for error than I orginally suspected.

So, bottom line is that I should back off on whether or not the video is representative of the results vs the "official" times b/c the times are not as accurate as I thought they were.

Splice assumes that the medium is analog. You splice tape. Why would I assume that you are talking about digital when you are using analog terms?

I don't think even the Zapruder film has been exposed to such extensive analysis.

My friends in the digital world use the term splice all the time...kind of like some people will say album instead of cd or beyond. I'm sorry if you actually thought that I thought people still pull out the old tapes in a smoke filled room and try to manually spice analog data together.

And yes, Alexander is VERY correct--this has gone way too far and I have to take some of the responsibilty for that. A lot to do about zip.
