Actually, it is

If Dallas shoots their normal 45%-50% from the floor last night, they win easily. OPen jumpshots from Dirk, Terry, etc. just didnt go down.

Dallas won't shoot 35% again this postseason

Anyway, Dallas needs to march out Harris, Terry, Howard, Dirk, and Damp next game and beat GS into submission. Once Dallas asserts themselves and beats GS once, the series is over. GS whole mentality is that they can beat Dallas, when in fact Dallas just beat themselves. Once GS realizes that, they'll crumble, just like Denver will eventaully against SA.

I'm not writing off the Mavs. I remember that two years ago my Rockets took the first two games of a 1st round series in Dallas, only to lose in seven. Dallas is a resilient and talented bunch, and they will likely find a way to get it done (at least against the Warriors  ).

Having said that, I hope and pray that GS does find a way to pull off the upset. The sheer entertainment value of Mark Cuban's reaction should it happen would be the highlight of the summer.

Guess we'll find out soon enough, won't we?

I've never been a Mavs fan. Even when I lived up there. Followed them since they were the local team. But I always liked them from the days of Moses Malone.

And where are you currently residing Mr. Insurance Adjuster? Or how about where are you moving to next? Ya know, since location dictates what team I'm supposed to like. ;)

I just think Crown Royal finds it weird that you root for the Houston Rockets and not the Mavs, but yet are a fan of the Cowboys and not the Texans.

I'm just diverse like that... :)

I follow the Texans just like I followed the Oilers, but I'm not a hardcore fan of them.

I follow the Astros bout like I followed the Rangers.

Hardcore about Rockets; wish the Mavs the best except when they play Houston. In b-ball 1) Houston 2) S.A. 3) Mavs

I second all of this, except for baseball (about which I care not a whit...). ;)

I don't think there will be a choke in this series. I also don't blame T-mac for 2005. I blame that old decrepit team that was on the floor.

This team is a wee-bit younger and can run a bit more. Tho I hate the reliance on 3-pt shots, that's the make up of the team and it's too late to change it now.

It is pretty easy to be a fan of teams in different cities.

When I was growing up we got all the Cowboys games on TV. I lived about half way between the two cities, but I saw a lot more of Dallas than I did Houston. I remember watching several Cowboys games before ever watching my first Oilers game. I would root for the Oilers especially after Earl Campbell joined them, but I was a Cowboys fan. I just don't like the Texans franchise even though they have a few players I like.

During that same time growing up, there was no NBA franchise in Dallas. There were the Rockets and also the Spurs, but the Spurs were hardly shown in my area. So I gravitated to cheering for the Rockets. I liked Moses Malone and then later Hakeem as I got to watch him at UofH as well. The early Mavs did nothing to inspire a fan, so I never grew interested in them even when they improved and got better than Houston.

As I have aged, my interest in the NBA waned. I just tend to watch championship rounds of the playoffs. I will cheer all three Texas teams, but I can't say I am a true fan of any of them. I will root more for the Rockets than the rest, but I don't follow them as much as I did when I was a kid.

I grew up a Houston Astros fan because those were the games I got to go see. I had relatives in Houston, so we went to the dome several times. The Rangers always seemed boring to me. Again I also saw more Astros games on TV than the Rangers. Same as with basketball, I have lost interest in baseball and really don't follow it that much.

Cowboys, Astros and Rockets are the teams that I was exposed to first and in that order. That has just stuck with me. It may have been different if I had seen the Oilers play first or attended one of their games as a youth. It may have influenced me, but fortunately that did not happen.

I am somewhat similar.

I was always a fan of the Cowboys, but when I moved to Houston as a kid I took up the Oilers as a 2nd team and the Stros and Rockets as my b-ball and baseball teams.

I was a hardcore Rocket fan from '90-2000, but I lost touch with them when I moved to Austin where all you hear about are the Spurs and Mavs.

I like both the Rockets and Mavs, but would cheer for Houston if they met in the playoffs. I can't stand the spurs, so they are out of the equation.

I had originally planned to somewhat follow the Texans, but after all the Dallas envy here, I now enjoy their suffering on a weekly basis. I don't think I had a harder laugh in years after the one that followed VY's overtime TD run last year against the Texans :laugh1:

One thing that I never noticed before I left Houston was just how fickle and pissy most Houston fans are of their teams.

They do nothing but ***** and moan all day long on the radio and come up with assinine ways to fix their teams. I remember listening to some fans call in back in '95 as the Rockets won their second championship and wished for Rudy T to be fired...it just made no sense.

One thing that I do know for sure is that Houston franchises are cursed. Some of the strangest and unreal things happen to their teams...sure they break through every now and then, but in general they will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
