I was always a fan of the Cowboys, but when I moved to Houston as a kid I took up the Oilers as a 2nd team and the Stros and Rockets as my b-ball and baseball teams.
I was a hardcore Rocket fan from '90-2000, but I lost touch with them when I moved to Austin where all you hear about are the Spurs and Mavs.
I like both the Rockets and Mavs, but would cheer for Houston if they met in the playoffs. I can't stand the spurs, so they are out of the equation.
I had originally planned to somewhat follow the Texans, but after all the Dallas envy here, I now enjoy their suffering on a weekly basis. I don't think I had a harder laugh in years after the one that followed VY's overtime TD run last year against the Texans :laugh1:
One thing that I never noticed before I left Houston was just how fickle and pissy most Houston fans are of their teams.
They do nothing but ***** and moan all day long on the radio and come up with assinine ways to fix their teams. I remember listening to some fans call in back in '95 as the Rockets won their second championship and wished for Rudy T to be fired...it just made no sense.
One thing that I do know for sure is that Houston franchises are cursed. Some of the strangest and unreal things happen to their teams...sure they break through every now and then, but in general they will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
The Astros are probably one of the most cursed teams in sports. J.R. Richard is proof of that.

ok guys, with round two starting today(in like 12 hours) we better get started on our second round predictions. as for the warriors vs. utah/houston series, we will pick that when it is set. i am gonna start a points system:if you guess the winner of a series correctly you get 5 points, if you predict correctly the amount of games it took that team to win, you get an additional 5 points, ill tally the points up after the jazz/rockets game tomorrow for the first round. btw, no editing the post with your picks! otherwise i wont count it, just make your GS vs. Houston/Utah predictions on a separate post. its not to late too start if you didnt make any picks in the first round, but youll be at a disadvantage.

I know, not exactly going out on a limb. But there's usually one upset series.
And considering how much the Spurs have owned the Suns in recent playoff history, the Spurs were the favorite.
