The Bondsman with Kevin Bacon.
Not bad, Not great. But a fun watch even though it is a bit cheesy.
The only thing that sucks is that they are shorter episodes and only a few of them.
Just finished this yesterday. I like the idea of the show, but it could have been so much better. Netflix categorizes it as a comedy. I didn't crack a smile until episode 7. I cracked a tiny smile once, but never laughed. It is not funny so if that was the intent I think it missed the target by a wide margin.
A lot of the acting was really sub-par. Not that it was distracting but it just seemed unpolished. I get the impression Bacon made this to extend the Kevin Bacon game into a new generation. He is staying relevant.
I started by saying it could have been better. I think that stems partly from the acting, and partly from the awful dialogue most of the show. Maybe those two things are the same.
The episodes are short, under 30 minutes in most cases, as you mentioned.
I liked that they kept it moving with something in each episode, or maybe 2 episodes and they didn't drag it along in order to build up a big shock ending. The end of the last episode leaves room for a new season.
I haven't looked to see if this is renewed for another season. If Amazon cancelled Peripheral I don't see how they renew this show. But it is Amazon so it would not surprise me if they do add another season. If they do, I doubt I will watch it unless I have nothing else to binge.
I rate it 5 out of 10. get some better writers and this show could be a 7 or 8.
