There will not be anything resembling consistency until more technology is adopted (i.e. more camera angles) and more officials added to each crew to up the number of eyes on the field. Keeping the status quo will not change it.

I disagree, they are pretty consistently crappy already!

But yes that plus add a chip to the ball to help with positioning

Full time officials.
Full time officials dont really solve the problem, go watch some NBA games (who have full time officials) and their calls are still straight up trash.

I mean, they call a foul and replay shows the offensive player never got touched, its that bad.

And star players get way more favorable calls compared to non-star players. The announcers will even joke about it sometimes saying that "only NBA royalty gets that call".

This is a big problem in the NFL but I don't see how it gets fixed. Maybe they can try rotating different officials through different crews every week. It can be worse than what they have now and it is what they do for the Super Bowl, isn't it?

So no talk about CONSEQUENCES for obvious and intentional blown calls yet? Nothing to see here then...
Excellent point............if a crew blows a call, especially a call that helps decide the game, there should be consequences like that crew gets suspended for 1 week or something like that.

LoL, why would they clean it up? It gives the fans something to talk about on Monday, it's part of the product.

But I do agree, full time officials could help. But more tech or more refs wouldn't do anything. Trust me. They tried it in soccer and it just added more confusion than it has helped making things more clear.

Gotta live with it to a certain extend. The conspiracy theories will be forever funny though. :D

I think chipping the ball and field to help with geolocating the position of the ball could certainly make a difference in spotting.

Outside of that, adding a few more cameras is probably the only other realistic thing at this point that would help.

The review process needs to be changed as well as what can be challenged and when. Far too much subjectivity that is impacting the game negativity

Disagree. NBA refs, though not perfect, are far far better than any other major sport.
