In an early plan I had Marinelli moving up and Callahan not calling plays so that part was looking good. Had us resigning Spencer which still may happen but that knee scares me. Same with Melton in FA.

So here goes...

Cut: Austin, Durant

Restructure: Romo, Ware, Carr, Lee

FA: Everson Griffen DE

Jarius Wynn DE

Re-sign: Bryant and Smith

Draft

New Orleans trade up for Mosley...we get 27, 2nd 26, 3rd 27.

1st 27 Aaron Donald DT

2nd 16 Ed Reynolds S

2nd 26 Scott Crichton DE

3rd 15 Chris Borland ILB

3rd 27 Telvin Smith OLB

4th 19 A J McCarron QB

5th 19 Chris Watt G

6th 18 Cody Hoffman WR

7th 14 Chris Coyle FB

7th 17 Deandre Coleman DT

7th 23 De'Anthony Thomas RB

I also look for an increased emphasis on nutrition and stretching. I hope they go as far as hiring a yoga coach!

Just some clarification: Did your trade net a second and third rounder for moving back 10 spots?

De'Anthony Thomas? How on earth can you justify a 7th round pick on him?

I like the draft but you gave Dallas way too much in that trade down. We'd be hard pressed to even get the 2nd rounder without maybe giving up our 4th or 5th rounder...let alone get that extra 2nd AND 3rd rounder.

Last year, for example, we dropped down from 18 to 31 and got a mid 3rd rounder out of the deal. So even thinking we could get a 2nd (let alone an additonal 3rd) is probably stretching it.

But the I like a lot of the players drafted.

Why cut Durant? He is a guy who can play inside and outside and the last 2 years have taught us that we need all the depth we can get at LB.

Is there any reason why we would not try to sign Jarius Bryd from Buffalo, would he not answer our fs needs. I know he will want to be paid, but I am tired of projects at the safety position.

Yeah the trade is super unrealistic. I'd love it if we swapped out Jimmie Ward for Ed Reynolds, and took Telvin Smith with our 3rd round (we're not getting their 3rd out of that deal). Also don't think Crichton lasts that long, but hey, it's early.

Uhhh yes. $$$$$$. It's not happening. I fully expect this team gives Wilcox every opportunity to start in 2014.

I like your mock draft as for QB I would take Aaron Murray over McCarron.

The only way we get under the cap is to extend a bunch of underperforming, aging players into more guaranteed money. We can't afford Byrd. We could have had a chance at drafting him in 2009, but we decided Roy Williams was more important than a 1st round draft pick.

That trade is too unrealistic. Jerry would probably give up our second and third and swap firsts.

If you want Aaron Donald you take him right there at 16. It's questionable he drops that far.

Oh I don't know...maybe the fact Wilber took his spot before he went on IR or that Holloman also out played him.

Griffen wants to get paid. The Vikings have more money than Dallas will hope to have available (they have over $23 million as we stand right now) and they will be desperate since they are letting Jared Allen leave.

So the Saints will give up a 2nd and 3rd to move up at most ten spots? Do you anticipate Jerry Jones hijacking their war room?

Yeah there is a reason why. This little thing called the salary cap.
