love the enthusiasm of the OP, but there isn't any team that trades all of that for the #16/17 pick

1st 27 Aaron Donald DT

Love the post but would Donald really be there at 27? No one can predict slotting right now obviously, but at the moment it sounds like we would be lucky if he was there at 16, much less 27.

I'd love to have Crichton there that late in the 2nd round. Love the kid. Wish he was coming back for his senior year though.

love complete thoughts on off-season but this is too good to be true.
fall to 27 and land a lopsided trade plus have aaron donald fall to 27 would pretty much be a modern herschel walker deal.

think value is about right for many of the draftees though with as draftees as you end up with i'd definitely be looking to some IR steals like Colvin.

not sure where team is on durant. he seemed to play reasonably well but also seems unlikely to come back if wilber is earmarked for that spot.

I agree with this. I see him in play at 14 even, when the Bears are on the clock.

I like the pick if he is there. He is a Marinelli, quick twitch guy who I doubt we pass up at 16 if he is there. Nobody, even Jerry, wants to neglect the line in the first round if there is a guy we love there. My hunch is Marinelli loves him, and that will be enough.

Off season plan, find a way to keep this team relatively healthy. I have never seen a team with the rash of key injuries this franchise has dealt with over the last few season. Off season conditioning and whatever else they need to do to keep guys on the field has to be a must. I don't claim to know how they do it but it has become ridicules with the hamstrings and other injuries that have depleted this team

i'm of the opinion we need two dt's. we are losing hatcher and no one guy you draft is gonna replace his production. so the only way to replace that production is upgrade the other dt spot. now crawford may be that guy but then you need quality guys to rotate in there. if i could snag two quality dt's with the first two picks i would certainly do it.
the trade won't happen for that much, maybe a 2nd but not a 3rd. no benefit in cutting durant till after camp. and i'm hoping for not just a straight restructure with ware. i'm hoping for some kind of cut to his base salary so you are not having to move so much forward

In an early plan I had Marinelli moving up and Callahan not calling plays so that part was looking good. Had us resigning Spencer which still may happen but that knee scares me. Same with Melton in FA.

So here goes...

Cut: Austin, Durant

Restructure: Romo, Ware, Carr, Lee

FA: Everson Griffen DE

Jarius Wynn DE

Re-sign: Bryant and Smith

Draft

New Orleans trade up for Mosley...we get 27, 2nd 26, 3rd 27.

1st 27 Aaron Donald DT

2nd 16 Ed Reynolds S

2nd 26 Scott Crichton DE

3rd 15 Chris Borland ILB

3rd 27 Telvin Smith OLB

4th 19 A J McCarron QB

5th 19 Chris Watt G

6th 18 Cody Hoffman WR

7th 14 Chris Coyle FB

7th 17 Deandre Coleman DT

7th 23 De'Anthony Thomas RB

I also look for an increased emphasis on nutrition and stretching. I hope they go as far as hiring a yoga coach!

I don't believe N. O. will give us their 2nd and 3rd to move up for Mosley.

You don't have to draft DT r1 and r2 to upgrade the position.
No one guy is likely to replace Hatcher as you note so why try to force high picks.

A bunch of average DL guys playing limited snaps is very doable and has been proven effective; especially in 4th quarters.

I'd draft DL if they were my highest rated guys or even with other positions of less emphasis but given dream scenarios I'd get guys in round 3-5 that can play DL for me 20-30 snaps a game next year and produce pressure on most of those snaps.
