But why was he seen by those as a potential franchise QB?

I knew he wasn't all that at the time. His best attributes are his durability and use of his legs...
Here's the problem: you are probably still wrong.

People seem to think Prescott will turn out to be amazing because he is durable, has the physique of a linebacker, uses his legs well and has a bit of heart. Gee Whizz

He drew no interest from anyone. Let that sink in.
That they refuse to do that as in let it sink in because that ruins all the fantasies

Honestly I wish he would have tried to get on somewhere else half these flakes would have disappeared with him. Now we'll be stuck here and "what could have been land" for a couple years

So you think a team like the Jaguars are probably fine with throwing away an amazing opportunity of winning the Superbowl? Or the Jets, or the Broncos, or the Cardinals or the Vikings? Ok...

He got a playoff win in his rookie season and played much of this season without his number one running back. I'm not saying the guy is as good as Romo ever was, but come on man.

Dak wasn't the reason we lost last year in the playoffs. As a matter of fact he was the reason we even came back and had a chance. I think Dak played better in that game then any Romo has played but at the end of the day it was still a lost.
More myths from Dak slobberers to make themselves feel better. When the Packers went up 21-3, Dak was 4-10 passing with less than 50 yards. He also threw a stupid interception that should have ended the game had the Cowboys not received the flukish gift of the first Aaron Rodgers interception in three months. The idea that Dak brought them back is laughable, the Cowboys ran the ball even more in second half and Zeke clearly carried the load. The idea that Dak played better than any game Romo ever played is so dim-witted I can’t even classify it. Yes, Dak is one of the reasons they lost that game.

Do you read any posts besides your own? What the heck does this have to do with Dak Prescott? Dak is better than anything on the Jets, Broncos, or Cardinals. And who knows what the heck the Vikings are going to do

The Cowboys refused to allow Romo to compete for the starting spot last summer.

Ponder that.
Why are you staring with last summer? Reading between the lines is a lost art. Romo told the world the front office and Garrett ended his career as the franchise's starting quarterback when he made 'The Announcement' on November 15, 2016--more than a full eight months before the 2017 training camp opened. Last summer??? Please.

Again my point doesn't even relate to Romo. It's about trading Prescott for crazy high draft picks which would have enabled us to draft an elite QB plus have enough to draft another quality player.

You basically said "If you exclude all the other factors, it's Dak's fault"

Jesus this board needs some time off.

With all due respect, your point (if you have one) doesn't relate to anything.

The Cowboys did the right thing by keeping him but nobody was expecting him to go full blown RGIII in season 2.

Do you read my posts?

My point related to your previous cheap shot alluding to Romo not drawing any interest from other teams - my point is that I seriously doubt that all of the aforementioned teams are all still really happy to have passed on Romo.

This point has nothing to do with Prescott.

So what are you posting it here for?

Every training camp should have open competition, especially for a QB who is massively more talented than your starter and has a longtime pedigree with your franchise.

As a QB mind and arm, Romo can toy with Dak worse than David Carr did.
