Dallascowboys.com has the roster listed as such:

LWR: Roy Williams, Sam Hurd, Kevin Ogletree
RWR: Patrick Crayton, Miles Austin

But if Austin is starting in place of Williams, then I don't know how accurate that depth chart is.

The depth chart is correct.

But it doesn't take into account who the third receiver is.

Miles Austin is the third receiver and he knows both positions.

I would be excited to see him on the field. He runs nice routes, has good speed and is real fluid receiver. Heck, give em a shot, what else to you have to lose?
He'll be out there, question is will Garrett call plays to him.

<sarcasm> besides, he hasn't been with the team that long and hasn't practiced with Romo that much. Can Romo "trust" him? LOL </sarcasm>

I like Ogletree alot, think he's eventually gonna be a nice player here for us.

That said, he can run the best routes ever and have the best hands of anybody here, but if/when he gets open the QB has to throw a good pass (or see him). Right now, thats the biggest issue here.

That depends on who you're listening to. Some people I consider most qualified are putting as much or more blame on our WR's.

I don't know myself. I'm not watching the coaches tape with the knowledge of what our players are supposed to be doing on each play.

I dont need to see the coaches tape to see what Romo is doing bad. When he blatantly misses the intended targets, throws into double coverage or locks in one guy and doesnt see the other guy/s wide open, doesnt check out of a play he knows has no chance of working etc etc thats a QB problem.

I have no doubt there have been a few mix ups on behalf of some other players, but the worst mistakes so far this yr seem to be mostly at the hands of the QB right now. Right now if I had to pick the worst player on our offense, it'd be the QB and it wouldnt even be close. Hopefully if he's hurt he can get well soon, if its not that then he needs to snap out of it or ride the pine. Because we cant win with him playing this way.

The game.

What?

:laugh2:

By letting O-tree take some snaps. I don't think Dallas ever lost a game by letting Stanback get a play or two.

There's one play of Ogletree's in preseason that gives me some extra optimism about this guy ....

OK the book is that he runs good routes, real good hands, but we don't know if he can do it against top competition in the reg season etc ...

You guys remember at the end of the first half in preseason (the last play of the half, time had run out), against I can't remember who, when Ogletree ran back a squib/short kickoff on the right side of the field when he was playing up man... either that or he picked up a fumble ... (question mark here ?)

And he ran left and dang near ran it back for a TD. There were some "ooh ah" moments on that play. He looked almost like Devin Hester or somebody.

I don't know why, but this play stands out in my mind. IMHO he's got some above-average to excellent open field ability in the league. I remember I said to myself, watching that play, that there was nobody else on the team that could have done that ...

I forgot the name of that guy that we signed off the street to play safety last year, but I seem to remember him messing up on a ST play against Pittsburgh last year that aided in our loss.
