Jerry said he is the next Terry Glenn....so just sit tight.

Link?

The only person associated with the Cowboys I have heard talk about his potential is Ray Sherman.

Actually, Wade said not, not Jerry.

You haven't seen Ogletree because WR hasn't been a problem and he sucks on special teams.

What's there to understand? Last year we utilized his speed on some sub packages throwing him screens and stuff as the #4 receiver. This year, we drafted Dez and don't use the #4 receiver as much.

Now if you're asking why he isn't ahead of Hurd on the depth chart, I think that has a lot to do with the fact that Hurd is a hard worker and a great special teamer, and Ogletree seems not to have that drive that makes guys excellent. I foresee Ogletree ending up somebody's #3 receiver down the line, and probably putting up decent numbers, but then again, if he isn't willing to work hard, he may just fizzle out of the league. I don't see him sticking around here next year, especially if Holley keeps playing well on ST.

I know it was said....someone is saying Wade said it....I could be wrong....but one of them said it...and of course I am paraphrasing...but it went something like "the way he gets in and out of his breaks is like Terry Glenn"

And believe me...watching Terry run routes was a thing of beauty...his transitions were seamless....which is why his knees are shot today and will only worsen as he gets old. Lots of guys who run lazy routes are not just because they are bad route runners....or lack agility...lazy routes are often "business" decisions.

Ogletree does not want to play special teams....and if he has enough to be a slot WR...I would much rather let him get a shot as th #3...than to waste him covering kicks.

You want him to get a shot as the #3 on a team with Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, and Roy Williams as the top 3? Roy Williams who has 5 TDs and should have 6 if the Red Barron hadn't shot down his hopes?

Ogletree doesn't want to play special teams for the same reason he isn't ever going to be a difference maker in this league: He isn't a hard enough worker.

Okay, but in fariness, that in bold above is not the same as "the next Terry Glenn."

I mean Jerry gave Dez #88 because he "reminds him of Mike Irvin"....

I said that honestly poking fun. Poking fun at the hyperbole that spills out of the mouth of this organization trying to sell fans on EVERYTHING but Wins!

Hearing Wade talk about how dominant Spencer was on Sunday in a game where you get the brakes beat off of you is one of the BIGGEST problems with the culture/attitude of this team.

I will try to find the EXACT quote from Jerry/Wade regarding Ogletree and you can decide.

It was Wade, and you pretty much nailed it.

He did emphasize that he wasn't as good as Terry Glenn, though. Just that the way he got in and out of his breaks without losing speed reminded him of Terry.

Wasn't TG a first round pick out of Ohio State? I think I remember reading about whoever his coach was at the time saying something like Terry Glenn had the best hands of any player he had ever seen.

Otree had a bad preseason, that being said Dallas also traded Crayton for a reason.

He needs to get some work this year.

Olgetree came crashing back down to the turf during training camp this summer. Since he had something of a work related complacency, he certainly doesn't present on an active status what both Sam Hurd and Jesse Holley present. They both can function in a similar role as a receiver, in three and four receiver sets. They may not present as good a deep threat as might Ogeltree, but Miles Austin and Dez Bryant do already.

Jerry STILL has not figured this out about THIS team. They don't handle praise well. They are more relieved to have FINALLY won a playoff game..than they are desperate to win a Super Bowl. Winning a playoff game was more about them getting people off there back.

And Jerry/Wade cannot WAIT to point out there accomplisments...point out how good someone is...and it is like a curse (Bennet, Felix, Jenkins, Ogletree and now it seems like Miles) eat it up and start the twitter, youtube, facebook look at ME campaign.

The Cowbosy will finally win another game this year...probably a game no one expects they will win...then they will go RIGHT back to feeling relieved that they actually won a game when many are saying they will not win another one this year. And instead of winning 2 in a row...they will probably mail in the games that follow. This team plays for ALL the wrong reasons and that culture has been established from J-E-R-R-Y!!!!!!!!!

There is no room on the 45 game day roster at the moment for Ogletree, he is not a special teams tackler and thats that

I think you are referencing this, Wade made the remarks not Jerry.

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said WR Kevin Ogletree reminds him of former NFL standout Terry Glenn: “I’m not saying he is Terry Glenn, but he runs good, precise routes with speed. He doesn’t slow down to cut. That’s something that reminds me of Terry Glenn.” Ogletree is expected to take on a little more work in the Dallas offense now that Patrick Crayton has been traded to San Diego. He had 12 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown over five preseason games in August.

Your quoting my post has nothing to do with your post, but on your subject, you are NOT going by what Jerry Jones is saying right now. He stated that consideration of direction does involve the goal of complete success and is not directed at just gaining playoff births. He even said a single season might be sacrificed for the final goal. This is on a DallasCowboy.com media center recording today. To be specific on YOUR topic....
