...

I know we go heavy and early on D, but I think the O is pretty much set, Flo and Kosier will be 100% healthy next year, and obviously we're stacked w/ offensive weapons, the D however needs an injection of speed, esp. at safety, and we probably need to get replacements for Greg Ellis, Zach Thomas and Chris Canty, we get at least 3 players for special teams as an added bonus: Follett, Pegues, Burnett, 4 counting English

so we get faster in the middle of the D, and a NT to either replace, or help Ratliff, a QB to groom as Romo's backup, depth on the Oline, and special team's help

TOO SMALL for my taste, 6'-1 238 pounds won't hold up well inside in the 3-4, and we already have a guy like that in Burnett.
I don't like taking O.L.B.'s and putting them inside since they excelled in space in college, doesn't mean they will do the same playing on the inside, especially in the 3-4.

3rd v/ Cleveland: Northern Illinois DE Larry English - 6'3" 255

James Harrison clone, fierce pass-rusher who is strong against the rush, plays with alot of emotion

We have our starting BOOKEND O.L.B.'s for the next decade in Ware and Spencer, so why use one of our top 2 pikcs on a guy who's SURE to be a backup for a long time?

4th: Iowa DE Mitch King - 6'3" 280

tireless lineman whose motor never stops, lives in the opponent's backfield, All-Big10

52 tackles, 15.5 TFL, 4 sacks, 2 FFs, 3 year average is 55 tackles, 14 TFL, 5 sacks and a forced fumble, Iowa as a group is top 10 against the rush

I like this pick, a little small but could be used as a situational pass rusher.

4th: Mississippi State FS Derrick Pegues - 5'10" 190

undersized, fast safety who excels in coverage

this year has 48 tackles, 2 INTs, .5 TFL, 6 PBUs, FF, 3 year average is 43 tackles, 4 INTs, TFL, and 6 PBUs, this year has also returned 26 punts for a 6.62 yard average, and 30 kickoffs for a 30 yard average, averages 15.3 yards per INT/P/K return

I like him a lot, he wont' last this long though..

5th: Boston College DT Ron Brace - 6'3" 324

humongous NT who gives a nice push up the gut

20 tackles, 8 TFL, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble, BC is allowing 3.11 yards per carry, 15th in the nation, on 30.82 attempts, which is 7th most a team has faced a game

Good pick, I like him also!

5th: Central Florida CB Joe Burnett - 5'11" 185

triple-threat player at CB, returning punts and returning kicks, going on his 4th straight trip as a All-CSU punt returner, 4 year starter, 2 All-CSU, at corner

42 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 10 PBUs, 1 K/P block, 4 INTs, 3 year average for pass-breakups is 8.5 and has 16 INTs in 4 years, 26 punt returns for a 14.5 yard average, 17.5 average in his 4 years, 23 kick returns for a 29.87 yard average and 2 TDs, averages 22 yards per INT/K/P return

Don't know if we need another corner this early, but his return skills will help.

6th: Missouri QB Chase Daniels - 6' 225

one of the nation's top QBs, has a live arm and is light on his feet, excellent backup for Romo

171.18 QB rating, 76.5 completion %, 3,592 passing yards, 9 yards per attempt, 30 TDs, 11 INTs, 41 rushes for 136 yards, a 3.32 average, and a TD, 3 year average for passing is 69.4 comp. %, 3808 yards, 8.1 ypa, 30 TDs and 11 INTs

don't mind the pick!

7th: Ole Miss OG Maurice Miller - 6'4" 343

huge, versatile Olineman

Ole Miss is 39th in the nation in yards per carry w/ a 4.58 yard average

I'll take it!

7th: Ball State OT Robert Brewster - 6'5" 310

top lineman on a top 25 rushing and passing offense

Ball State averages 5.33 yards per carry, 10th in the nation, 197.65 yards per game, 24th, they average 258.5 yards per game through the air, 21st, and they've thrown for 25 TDs, which is 15th

Sure why not!

...

Not bad, but I would like to add another big N.T., cause what if Brace gets hurt? We'd then have to reshuffle the line and move Ratliff back to N.T., etc., so I would like to get TWO big N.T.'s in this years draft, plus another big body N.T. on top of Brace to help out on goal line and short yardage spots also on top of being the backup to Brace in case of injury and to spell him during the game.

I like the first couple of picks....There's a chance that Rashad will be in there in the fourth man....I don't want either DT from BC anymore after I saw the Wake game and they were invisible in the second half. Dislike the CB pick. Other than that I wouldn't mind this mock.

I saw nfldraftcountdown has Rashad Johnson ranked 24th overall, pretty high ranking if you ask me, walterfootball has him4th 5th round like nfldraftscout does, but nfldraft scout has him as the 5th best F.S., I think it depends on the combine, but he could go late round 1, and my guess is he'll be a solid mid 2nd rounder the time all is said and done.

I like English. I wonder if he is athletic enough to play the middle.

You can never have enough pass rushers and Spencer hasn't shown he can stay healthy.

Not a big fan of King. Classic overachiever.....just not sure he has the size and strength to hold up as a 3-4 end.

Never know, remember last year a guy named Domonique Rodgers Cromartie?
He was a 3-4 rounder and shot up the charts, it's not out of the realm of possibility, hell, Demarcus Ware was a 3rd round prosepct till about 3 weeks prior to the draft and ended up being drafted 12th overall, anything is possible, nfldraftcountdown has him 24th overall, so he's definately not under the radar anymore and i'm sure once everyone updates in by seaons end, I'm sure he'll be talked about as a possible 1st rounder on most sites..

Of course he can, just ask Daboysfan, he says EVERYBODY who plays O.L.B. in college can play I.LB. in the 3-4!
Note the sarcasm!

Do I need to go back and quote you the 1,000 times you said O.L.B.'s in the 4-3 move to the inside in the 3-4 defense?
You are SERIOUSLY denying this now after the arguement we had back and forth the past 2 days on this? LOL

W/E is right, I'm done with you, you're psychotic and need mental help!

Just because you get move from outside to inside doesn't mean you can play the position and do what's required/expected of you. Your 39 years old that should be reflected in your post.

I agree, he may be viewed as a 4th/5th round guy now, but he will be closer to going in round 1, than the 4th/5th round

Actually, most OLBs in college project inside in the 3-4. Undersized DEs usually project to OLB.

Obviously, not all of them can. You probably aren't going to have much luck with a 6'1", 235 weakside linebacker playing inside.

Although he played middle as well, Jerod Mayo played outside in college. Bradie James played outside in college. James Farrior and Larry Foote as well I believe.

LOL
MY GOD!
That's what I've been trying to tell you for a WEEK NOW that NOT ALL O.L.B.'s can just move inside to the 3-4 and be good!
WOW!

Are you stupid? You draft even one with an anticipation of them succeed at what you have in mind whether they do or don't is totally different. That's why you see QB move to WR and etc etc etc. There's no way you're 39 your post are way to childish.
