I was thinking if he was better than Pat we could just give him Pat's uniform and send Pat down the road... Nobody would be able to tell.

According to Parcells, Paul was two years of development ahead of Pat. So Paul is nothing more than two more developed years of suckage.

They was good in college. They just need to get in the weight room and get Hudson to fine tune their techniques and skills and they will be alright future wise.

Is that you Emmitt?

And you think so well of the McQuistan boys that we can be better than 7-9?

one at guard and one at tackle on the same side might be good they would trust each other and most likely know what the other might be thinking so they will be in sync.

Maybe they are like the brothers from "The Replacements".......on the same line they are beastly, separate them and they are two captainless ships lost asea in different oceans.

when we draft Iupati and Fox in April, neither McQuistan will have a star on his helmet.

I think RealCowboyfan is working toward becoming the authority on all things McQuistan. You're wearing out the keyboard in this thread. :)

Paul is actually better than Pat.

He is (he was a much higher draft pick), but of course that's damning with faint praise... LOL...

Actually both McQuistan Brothers are OK. We drafted the big 6'8 Marteen kid from Boston College the sam year that we drafted Free. Marteen could not beat out Pat for the back up RT position. We let Joe Berger Go and kept Pat McQ.The only reason Pat has not played is because there is not a real weak spot on the OL. I think that they both would start for the Commanders right now, Prolly Green Bay also. Pat is not better than Mark Colombo at RT. I think they both have NFL futures, starters I don't know. Besides Montrae Holland is only Making 1.4 Million this year, he will be a free agent next year and its highly unlikely that he will resign for only 1.4 million. Holland can start for alot of teams The Cowboys FO knows that bringing him back is unlikely so they are already looking at the future, thats all. I already can already see a big camp battle setting up between Possible Paul Mcquistan and Brewster for the swing guard spot next year.

For crying out loud... how can you hold anything the Raiders have done against anyone?

the other thing some of you might be overlooking is this;
you always churn the bottom of the roster, let players know that are on the bubble that unless they perform and step up someone could take their place

thats one thing parcells harped on, and wade finally accepted that midseason last year; when wade signed some special teams players midseason

that way your pushing players like duke, mcquistain to step it up, maybe even holland too

Paul McQuistan Grade: 3.4
Position: T
Class: Sr
School: Weber State
Conference: Big Sky
Ht., Wt.: 6-6, 312
40 Time: 5.13
Selected by: Oakland Raiders
Round 3, pick 5 (69 overall) Grading System

BIO: Four-year starter at left tackle, awarded All-Conference honors every season since his sophomore campaign.

POSITIVES: Solid position blocker who stands out in pass protection. Blocks with good lean and jolts opponents at the point of attack. Works to play with leverage, displays good awareness on the field and works well with teammates. Has a nasty streak and gives effort finishing blocks.

NEGATIVES: Lacks adjustment, flexibility and not explosive off the line. Rarely gets movement from run blocks.

ANALYSIS: A blocker with growth potential, McQuistan has backup potential at either tackle spots. Solid long-term developmental prospect whose game will improve as he physically matures.

Third Round
Paul McQuistan, G, Weber State
6-6, 313, 5.10
No. 5 (69 overall)

•NFL.com/CBS Sportsline profile
•Sports Network profile - the content of this profile names Pat McQuistan, Paul's twin brother, but describes Paul's accomplishments, and I suspect the preparer intended to say Paul rather than Pat
•Yahoo! Sports profile

Pros: McQuistan is big, raw left tackle prospect with an intriguing upside. He has fine footwork and agility with the physical combination of size, athleticism and intangibles to be a starter in time. He dominated opponents on a weekly basis at Weber State, where his athletic ability was too much for small-college defenders. His movement skills are good and he is quick off the line - whether run or pass blocking. As a drive blocker, he uses his lower body strength to get movement at the line of scrimmage and leans on defenders with the nasty demeanor to finish well. He has the ability to get to the second level with success and adjusts well on the move. His arms measure 35.5” long and give him the ability to lock on and steer an opponent out of the hole.
Cons: He needs refinement on his overall technique. His level of competition did not challenge him and he will need time in camp to settle into either tackle spot. Whether he can handle NFL caliber speed rushers remains to be seen.
Numbers:: At the Combine he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds with a 29.5" vertical jump and a 9’2” broad jump. He did 28 reps in the 225-pound bench press. Scouting report provided by Rivals.com.

It could be worst. It could be Jacob Rogers our second round draft pick from USC.

Of all of our busted draft picks, this one still rankles. What a complete waste.
