Oh well. Another wasted year. Maybe a new coach will help next season.

I wish I had your confidence in this Dallas team at home. I certainly do not. I know they were on the road at Washington but when you are a team that has playoff expectations you got to take care of business against a team that has won two whole games.

I guess the Bears aren't a playoff team either after what they showed today getting beat by the previous 1-6 Dolphins at home. You would think a playoff team like the Giants would be able to soundly beat the Texans playing at home. I thought the Vikings were a wildcard contender until they got stomped by the Patriots and at last look are currently losing to the 49ers. I thought the Seahawks were the class of the NFC West but they're just 4-4 and spiraling downwards. I thought the Panthers were the class of the entire NFC, but they're just .500 and we beat them last week. I thought the Falcons were going to win the NFC South until they got beat by the Lions today.

Name me 6 solid playoff teams in the NFC tonight, and next week you'll probably change four of them.

I don't remember Bill's previous teams being this sloppy, penalty-prone. Dumb players? Lousy position coaches? Both?

I think one thing is that he has alot of young players starting and playing prominent roles on this team, I dont' think that was the case in his previous stops

why do I constantly hear that Parcells needs to take some of the blame, when all he does it get all of it? we're explaining why this isnt' all Parcells' fault, not why it's somebody else's

If Parcells gets all the blame how come every time the defense screws up all I see is GROZ and not GROP.

Just because some do blame Parcells does not mean it is a consensus by any means.

And if I am delusional and ALL YOU HEAR is that Parcells needs to take some blame then good because he does.

Campo called the plays he did not throw ints, miss blocks, jump offsides, hold, committ pass interference and so on.

At some point if your team does not live up to expecations then the coach gets the blame end of story.

Every year coaches get fired and it was not because the coach failed to make plays on the field.

that's not what I said, it's that the blame is mostly on Parcells and the coaching staff, it's never the player's faults

The one thing the Cowboys must fix right now, is the penalties.

I would just love to see a new DC next year. Someone who actually knows the 3-4 and is aggressive with the pass rush. 1 sack on Brunell?

Was Al Groh a defensive coach in the NFL?

What a pathetic post.

Our season is over based on what?

4-4 with 8 games to go.

We still play
the giants
philly
new orleans

all contenders and have games against arizona, tampa, detroit left.

The only game that is left I think we might be overmatched in is the colts but we are at home and anything can happen.

If you want to throw in the towel that is your choice, but 4-4 is not a time to do it with 5 of the last 8 at home.

We need next weeks game bad and then hopefully can win 4 of those 5 down the stretch.

st.louis lost today
atlanta lost today

4-4 is not the time to throw in the towel, 5-7 is but not 4-4

The Bears are 7-1 and the Cowboys are 4-4.

Sure if the Cowboys were 7-0 going into Washington and lost under the same scenario we would all be upset that we lost, but we would also understand that you are not going 16-0. Apples and oranges and you know it.

Teams that are 4-4 at the break do not get such considerations. You guys kill me with your low expectations. I guess people totally forgot what the goal is. Does this team remotely strike you as one that is on the verge of greatness.

Dont give me that any given Sunday crap either. I know that the season is not over and I am a fan and I will be with the team every Sunday hoping that we win and turn things around. But that is not what I am talking about.

Right now our saving grace is that the NFC is so weak. I am sorry if that does not comfort me, because it does not. I want to be one of the best teams in the NFL not a "if we cross our fingers we can be a wild card in the weak NFC" team. Does that make sense? I mean I know I am so harsh. I thought we would be better than a .500 team midway through Parcells fourth year.

Again, you seem to have a clear cut definition of what a playoff contender looks like. So let me see your vision. Name me 6 solid playoff teams in the NFC right now. We'll see how they do the rest of the season.

Far as I am concerned the season is not over.

Even if we do not make the playoffs I still will not consider this a wasted year as long as Tony Romo continues to play well.

Agreed. How long have we been looking for a QB? sheesh seems like forever... making playoffs is ok too:D

Again, I could care less. The NFC is weak. When Parcells came along did you say to yourself "Man if only we can be an average team in the NFC"?

Look, if it suits you to be an average team in the NFC knock yourself out.

The fact that we are still contenders because the NFC is incredibly weak does not give me a warm fuzzy inside.

This season is NOT over and I don't understand why everyone is so ready to throw in the towel. Romo threw for nearly 300 yards and 2 TD's today, and he would have had even more had there been better catches on at least 2 very catchable balls. Yes, it was a totally CRAP loss to the hated Commanders, but I have thought since last season that we are an undisciplined team. We will get better with Romo back there and can feel optimistic about the future now.

But for pete's sake, we have GOT to cut back on the stupid penalties, and we may need to replace a few coaches along the way. For example, I don't understand why we ran Barber for 10 yards when we needed 20+ if all that did was put our punter right at the point where he's likely to kick it into the endzone. Why not chuck it for a first down? Putting a punter with a 45 yard average in 42 yard range? Why?

Still, this season is NOT lost.

No, I said that to get into the playoffs we needed to win two of three on this three game road trip. Then you said to have any chance we needed to go undefeated. Now you're backtracking about how "we'll only get in because the NFC is mediocre". I got news for you ... the AFC is pretty "mediocre" too. 4-4 would have us right in the heart of at least a wildcard race in that conference too.

All I asked for was 6 solid playoff teams in the NFC. Its not a loaded question. There's not even a right or wrong answer. It didn't seem like all that difficult of a task to me. Certainly not so difficult that you have to dodge it three seperate times (soon to be four). Yet you seem to be terrified of answering it.

I totally agree on this, we still have a chance this year.

For the 1st time on a lot of years I just feel we have a good QB who can help us win games. If we can stay positive I think we still have a chance!

I am not dodging the question.

1. Giants
2. Chicago
3. New Orleans
4. Atlanta
5. tie Dallas/Philly
6. Seattle

There you go happy. What does this prove or say? Absolutely nothing. Right now I do not see Dallas winning their division. That means there are only two playoff spots available for Dallas.

All of these teams are still in contention for it. Washington, Philly, Minnesota, Green Bay, Atlanta, Carolina, and St. Louis.

There you go a complete waist of my time, but for some reason you think that means something.

Yeah, we are still in contention only because the NFC is terribly weak. Is that what you are so giddy about?

Yes Parcells got us to average in a weak NFC. That is what I am talking about baby.:bang2:

How could you have Dallas in your top 6? You said there was no way we could make the playoffs unless we swept all 3 games of the road trip.

I said:

I think for a realistic shot at the playoffs 3-0 on this road trip was imperative.

I never said there was no way we could make the playoffs unless we win the next three. Never said it. I do think if Dallas had won today our chances would be much better or shall I say "realistic".

You are getting way to wrapped up in mathematical crap. Sure we are still very much alive.

I am not talking about 4-4 is a doomed record that can not be overcome. I am saying that Dallas is not a very good team right now. If Dallas turns it around the next eight games then great. That would be awesome!!!

Bottom line is me and you will not see eye to eye, because I have higher expectations than you. 4-4 is a major disapointment.
