Oh, what the heck. Shaun Alexander a Cowboy?

Since everyone else is linking every unwanted player to the Cowboys, how would fans feel about Shaun Alexander signing on with Dallas?

He's more than likely on his way out of Seattle and probably won't command the dollars that he used to.

If it were doable contractually, would anyone want to see him in Dallas lending his experience and splitting carries with Barber?

I wouldn't.

He looks like a limited back on the downside of his career. He looked more worried about protecting himself than making plays for his team.

In my opinion, when a running back starts doing that, he's done for.

Too much money, not enough return at this stage of his career. I honestly don't want a vet backup to Barber at this point. 1 or 2 rookies would be fine with me.

Maybe it was something else. I've heard it said he has an attitude problem as well.

I think the issue there is that in all probability, he'd want too much to sign with us or Seattle would want too much to trade him to us.

And that his cap figure would be over the top to take him in a trade. But maybe I'm wrong.

Isn't this the last year of his deal in Seattle, too..?

I'd need more information from the forum about this one.

And we all remember what Holmgren did to Jerry Jones the last time they talked trade. Makes me shutter just to think about it.

Meh. I'm not a huge fan but if he'd come here at a nice, cheap, price to be the back up I wouldn't balk. He couldn't do any less than Jones did in the back up role.

But I doubt that he's going to come in real cheap.

The only person who plays more uninspired and emotionless in the league is on our team right now. And he isn't in his 30's yet.

5. I think Shaun Alexander might be wise to look at the want-ads. I knew this as free-agency dawned -- he was no lock to return for the 2008 season in Seattle. And now that T.J. Duckett and Julius Jones have signed with Seattle within days of each other for a combined cap cost of about $5 million a year, and Maurice Morris is an inexpensive third-down back, Alexander will likely be a traveling man. That's what happens when you don't run hard.

IMHO, Alexander would make a great backup to MBIII......he would bring a veteran presence to the locker rm in the RB position. He is still a productive player and catches the ball pretty good out of the back field.

What do you Zoners think?
