Ohio mom gets life

Stupid. Should have put her in a microwave the second she was convicted. It would have been cheaper.

Hopefully she is brutally killed in prison.

I'd rather she rot to death.

She doesn't deserve to be in prison for a short stay.

Maybe she can serve a long *** time and then get murdered.

Where are the Saints when we need them.

Spared the death sentence.

This **** drives me crazy. Now tax payers have to afford her for the rest of her life.

Super awesome.

+1. But the do over policy of endless appeals that somehow came into our system has made it costly to sentence someone to death. I don't know the history of it, but it's pretty ridiculous that 'a jury of your peers' is no longer enough to exact justice.

in all fairness, the peers usually are often just vigilante types.

She deserves jail but killing her won't bring the child back.

Bringing back the dead isn't really the point. Taking her and people like her off of my payroll is. While it's not all about money, I really don't like the idea that I do work hard to pay into a system for people to loll about in jail and be fed and clothed and watch TV and have a library, etc, etc, etc

When it's clear cut and obvious, just send them packing and use the resources for less serious criminals. No need to overload ourselves to the point of overflowing.

Interesting. If the defense attorney says that "We have to reserve this kind of punishment for the worst, she was drunk at the time" I simply would have countered with the mother had a choice in getting drunk or not and had a choice in putting the baby in the microwave. Paris didn't have a choice at all.

I don't know how lawyers can defend people like this.

For the notoriety and thus, monetary gain. Most of them are just like most in the media. No morals. Whatever it takes to get more $$ they will do. If that means defending a Mom who microwaved her kid.....

Life in prison? That is ridiculous! She should have gotten the death penalty.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the next news you hear about her is that she becomes pregnant in jail from a guard or some visitor.

I am amazed that the defense attorney said that "death should only go to the worst offenders." You can't get any worse than what she did. If I was the judge, I would put her in a microwave oven to see the how her defenseless baby felt.
