Granted Cundiff should have made that kick, and he even kicked off poorly all game, he needs to grow up or go get another career, no excuses, that is a chip shot and he should make it. Yet, at same time I blame Parcells, all during offseason he could have gotten in a kicker to challenge cundiff, he didnt, Parcells is the one that fired Steve Hoffman, he knew then we had no kicker coach, so to me, these close losses we have lost our due to Parcells, he wanted to have his team mentally tough, so what better way then to have a kicker that cant kick half the time. That way you will be in close games and you either suck it up, or lose, so the team has to fight all the way to the end to win or lose. That to me is parcells fault. I was excited all year by what I have seen, the tough games we have played, but what also do i see, that we dont have, game breaker players, guys like a Michael Irwin or Emmitt Smith or Troy Aikman or Novachek. Or hate to say it Terrel Owens or Marvin Harrison or Tikki Barber, guys that you have to scheme against. Then, with the tough murder schedule we are going to have to play next year, it will be rough year, so not sure if next year is or time or not.
Then, you take in the players like say Torrin Tucker, a guy that came into offseason fat and out of shape, hes a 3 year guy. If he had worked out like he should have, probably could have done more. Or Al Johnson, a center that needed to add strenth and bulk, or finese blocking against bigger defensive tackles or nose tackles, like coaches say, the coached coach, but the players are the ones that have to play to win. Either they get it or dont get it yet, in other words they arent hungry enough yet. Then, you take a guy like Marcus Spears, a dominant defensive tackle when he wants to be, he just doesnt get it yet.
So, my point is this, its still up the the players, guys like Cundiff, time to wake up and quit half *** playing, Torrin Tucker time to wake up, get in shape, Al Johnson time to put on some strength, you been here 3 years, Marcus Spears time to grow up to your potential to dominate teams, Kevin Burnett, even Jaque Taylor said your a beast, but time to grow up, you have to learn to play with pain, quit having surgery when you dont need to when you should have been studying in offseason, so guys either we win against the Giants, a must win now, or do we need to not do good and have one more good strong draft? If we go to playoffs and lose, our draft pick is that much lower down the pole ranking, i looked at top players this year, anywhere from the 17th pick to the 21st is where it will fall off top players, that good a strong draft. Dont get me wrong, sure im hopefuly we win this year and go all the way, but if we dont, what best scenario for us to get a few more good players. A guy like the all pro offensive guard Hutchinson for the Seattle Seahawks will be a free agent next year. If they dont sign Alexander their top running back, they cant franchise two players, so got a chance at Hutchinson maybe, we need some young blood on offensive line, Larry Allen, I love him dearly but is getting long in the tooth. What do you guys think? cowboyjoe

I think we just played the best nfl team and lost in OT, but Parcels had his team in position to win with 7 minutes left in 4th quarter. I think the cowboys are one of the top 5 teams in nfl.

You DO know we're 7-4 and in excellent shape to make the playoffs ... right? Cripes, man, you act like we're headed toward another 6-10 season.

no, I'm just saying what i see guys if we lose to Giants, I think we can win, but we have to play our best game up there, offense, defense, and special teams, we can do it, but if we dont, what then? I am looking at long term, solutions, things that we should have fixed during offseason and didnt. Granted you cant fix everything, but if you guys recall, we still have like 4 million or 4.2 million left over in cap money. that was enough to get you a good kicker, or a good offensive tackle, granted i like Petti and think in time he will be ok, if he hits the weight room, agility drills, to get in top shape, and come back. Yet, thats like this game, we just played, Larry Allen is 33 years old, he played pretty good Sunday, but was just too tired Thursday, we have a 3rd round draft pick, Stephen Peterman, he should have been playing, or one of our backup offensive tackles like Ethan Brooks or columbo, to give our older offensive line guys some rest, so they would be fresher in 4th quarter, but again, a high 3rd round draft pick is sitting on bench, why? We have no great kicker, our kicker coach was fired during offseason by Parcells, whom wanted to be able to get ahold of kicker if he messed up, but what i saw sunday, Cundiff was like in a daze, kicked off poorly on all kickoffs, why? Who was to blame for letting him continually kickoff to 10 to 7 yard line, again Parcells. Since, there is no kicker coach to keep kicker safe, why wasnt parcells in Cundiffs face on those poor kickoffs, wake him up. To me, these our signs we are like one year away, so I am looking at long term, granted, WE NEED TO WIN AGAINST GIANTS NEXT SUNDAY, IF WE DO, STILL HAVE GOOD CHANCE TO WIN EAST DIVISIOIN,GET A BYE WEEK TO GET SOME REST, GO FROM THERE, BUT WHAT I AM SEEING, WE ARE WHERE THE BRONCOS, BENGALS WERE LAST YEAR, MEANING WE ARE ONE YEAR AWAY, FROM BEING THAT TOUGH DOMINANT TEAM, WAY TO DO THAT, IS ALSO ANOTHER GREAT OFFSEASON OF FREE AGENTS, AND A GOOD DRAFT, GOOD DRAFT, YOU NEED TO DRAFT GUYS IN TOP 20 SLOTS, IF YOUR IN PLAYOFFS YOU CANT DO THAT, UNLESS TRADING UP WITH PICKS, WE DONT HAVE EXTRA PICKS THIS YEAR, JUST BASING MY VIEWS ON WHAT I SEE, AND TIME TO HOLD PARCELLS ACCOUNTABLE. cowboyjoe

CBJoe, why don't you put on some bulk, grow up, get tough, and go out and compete with some of these guys and try to earn a spot on the team or better yet since you blame Parcells why don't you send JJ a resume.... then maybe YOU can make a difference!

BTW..... you DON'T need to type with caps lock on..... we know you are frustrated just like the rest of us...... get over it and concentrate on NYG. :D

We lost due to a Bad pass from Bledsoe and a missed FG, Parcells had nothing to due with it. Before Bill was here we would have been Blown out in games like this. We all know that Flozell's injury is killing us!.

There always is....think about this from the Denver point of view. They were pushing us around and then Plummer threw an interception that turned the game around. I could see you as a Denver fan......"Shanaham got cute once again and gave away the game, all he had to do is keep running the same offense that got us there, but no, he had to go for it all. Then the D stopped blitzing at the end and just let them tie up the game....geez"

See the point? If you picked the game apart from their point of view it also didn't go perfect. The difference is that they did enough to win and we didn't so now we are picking our game apart and not the other way around. The real reason we lost the game was the coin toss in overtime. Almost 80% of the time the team who wins it, wins the game.

coin toss = bull crap.... our "D" held them on several drives yesterday.... this one should have been no different.... Denver caught us off guard and smoked us.... I'll give credit where it's due.....
