Honestly, I don't know. I never thought in my wildest dreams a team this talented could underachieve to such a degree. After the last 13 years and us having tried almost every available route, I just don't know what to think anymore. Sure, we can fire Wade, but who would replace him? And why should we think the late season collapses will change with another coach, as they occured with Parcells as well.

Yeah, we can get rid of TO, but then you're down one of the best wideouts in the NFL, regardless of his mouth.

Yeah, you can replace Romo, but who replaces him? And can you really justify benching an all-pro caliber QB, even with his late season debacles? When he gets protection, he is one of the very best.

What to do with the O-Line? The hotel is almost done it appears, and everyone but Kosier appeared to regress.

Pac-Man? Henry? RW38? Keith Davis? You can't cut all of them, even though many of you want to.

This is a mess.

It starts from the top. Coaching staff should be cleaned up. Jerry should've let Garrett go instead of paying him all that money.

Yeah it starts at the top alright. Jerry needs to step down and name Stephen president and let him bring in a real GM.

You won't replace Romo.
You have to hope he turns it around.
QB is too difficult, expensive and time consuming to find.

I want to know realistic answers to this question as well. If you look at the contracts for most of these guys, they are ours for atleast the next 3-4 yrs.

Bring in a Head Coach who has WON in this league.

There are two guys out there, Cower and Holmgren.

Then, let the HC do his job. Like what JJ did when BP was here.

Clean house, will the NFL let Dallas have an expansion draft?

we need to start a petition, and spread it around, not just on this forum, but on the streets of Dallas, or any Texas town

a plea for Jerry to step down as head of football operations

get enough signatures and send it to Rich Darlymple, or a connection to Dallas that some members have on here

we should start it here, sticky it at the top, and get as many people as we can on this forum to sign it, then have some people print copies and get other Cowboy fans to sign

it probably won't work, but we have to try

Forget about cleaning house because we can't. What part of that aren't you guys realising. It's still a salary cap and if they get rid of most of these guys it will hurt severaly.

Unless Jerry gets a guy in here that knows something about building a TEAM, and not just putting a bunch of stars together, this team will not be successful......ever.

Jerry needs to take a long look in the mirror and diagnose his disease. He has pretty much ruined this team and it's image.

The Dallas Cowboys are the Buffalo Bills of the 90s, except the Bills had enough heart to make the playoffs.

The Dallas Cowboys are officially a punchline.

Here's my rant:

My parents are downstairs talking about how replacing Romo would fix all our problems.

HOW can you put the blame solely (even the majority of the blame) on Romo. The Ravens game? Maybe. The Pittsburgh game? Yeah. But how can you blame him for this game.

Was he the one giving horrible protection, was he the one fumbling kickoffs, was he the one running those horrible routes?

Yeah, he needs to learn how to hold onto the ball and he needs to learn to not throw boneheaded picks.

He's definitely a problem, but we're better off with him than without him IMO.

Jerry needs to fire the entire coaching staff, then hire a real football coach and LET HIM pick his assistants. Jerry then should fire the GM! Then Jones needs to sit his butt in the owner's box and quit meddling with the team.

I started a thread earlier that got buried but here is my take on where to go from Here:

So now What??? The seasons over - it ends in the most horrific way possible. We have become the laughing stock of the league, media and opposing team fans. So what do we do now to right the ship gain respectability back?

First order of business is change the coaching staff: Jerry needs to eat the $6M contacts of JG and Wade and bring in Holmgren to establsih discipline and to rein in Romo.

Next....Release Pacman and TO (and I have been supportive of TO from day 1). We need to get the right attitude on this team. I think Romo has been forcing the ball to players instead of making the best decision and that goes back to satisfying TO. Pacman is more of distraction waiting to happen. The Cowboys need to become a Team not individual players.

On Offense, TE and RB are the only area's we are in good shape . but we need help at WR and OL. We are stuck with RW11 and I think Austin was really coming prior to his injuries. Crayton has dropped off after getting his contract. Hopefully with new leadership we can get Crayton refocused. We need to let stanback go and pick up a couple of WR's in the Draft preferabbly highly productive small school WR that may go overlooked. on the OL, I think Holland Gurode and Bigg are keepers, and Columbo just got his contract We need to get Flo's replacement and decent backups. Keep Kosier and Mcquistan as back ups get rid of everyone else. Go OL on 1st day.

On Defense, if we stay with the 3-4 then we need to get a real NT and move Ratliff out to end let Zack and Carpenter go and find there replacements in draft/FA. Also need to get a backup for Spencer and let Ellis move on. It is time to let some of the old heads go and get new blood/attitude on this team. At the DB position we STILL need to find a safety let RW/Hamlin fight for the strong safety and pick up a Free safety and let him compete with Anthony Henry.

I would add hire a GM but I know that will never happen :(
