Okay, troops! I'm impressed!

How about a reasonable middle ground? Is that too much to ask? Can we take a wait and see approach beyond being 1-1? No idea why people feel the need to make bold stances on a team no one honestly has a clue about right now.

I lost count of NBC's unnecessarily repetitive replays of Beckham's fantastic catch. That was sad but it was worse witnessing Collinsworth still slobbering over it JUST AS MUCH last night as four years ago. He should go ahead and just propose to the guy.

Collinsworth always annoys me anyway. He always states the obvious in games, and tries to make it sound profound... which drives me friggin nuts.

I posted this last night but the dumbest comment Collinsworth made was that the Giants "weren't beaten physically, it was all about the scheme".

Guess what, if your OL is getting beaten so bad that you have put all your help inside on our DL - and after that are forced to go to max protect because Eli is getting killed - then you got beat physically.
This looks beaten physically to me, but what do I know? :p

Leave the bashing to me.
There was plenty of low-key criticism in my post. You aren't the only critical poster there, Roy. Step off your pedestal, bubba.

And yes, Zeke had lanes. If he doesn't take it to the house, it doesn't mean he doesn't have lanes. 4.6ypc. He just wasn't used enough. Which I touched on.

He goes off next week.

Where is my bold stance, hoss? My post was all middle ground

I only mentioned week three for the future. You know, the next game we play. Supported with stats and not lazy assumptions.

**** out of here

Out of the woods? No, the offense is going to be a struggle because of the talent at WR and TE but the defense looks good and should get better. Look at it this way, we've complained so often about the defense, this will shake things up for us in the complaint department.

Need to improve each week, for the next two weeks, in order to get his offense up to speed. Not that they don't need to improve every week but they need to get up to stride and show the ability to score beyond 20.

Austin's long reception and his run will pay many dividends as the future evolves and teams have to rehearse and practice extensively for his influences alone!

Very glad to see him start the game off as a definite influence...hooooah!!

Normally, I stare at every play like a nutcase... But, I had a deadline to meet for today, so I didn't focus on every play.

Like I said before... we should win the Giants game and the next two... or we are in big trouble... 1 down and 2 to go...

Defense is starting to look like I hoped they would look... And I am starting to believe, that Byron has the ability to be a shutdown corner. OBJ was not liking Byron...

He looked friggin awesome at the position he should have been playing, and was meant to be playing the whole time. The only thing that irritates me on this, is the wasted years.

Now the offense, great first series, really liked them in late 3rd and 4th, if I am recalling the time correctly... What happened in between not so much. Since, we probably could have had 40 points that game.

But, step forward on at least stopping the vanilla offense all game.

Dak actually made some adjustments at the line, instead of just fake call gibberish, to try and fool the Defense. He showed flashes of quick decisive throws, to receivers who were actually getting NFL separation, not college separation for once. There were some of those completions he made, that he just wouldn't have thrown the week before. So I guess someone reminded him his job, and their job was on the line.

They just need to make the offense work where this receiver will be in area (A), this one in area (B), this one in area (C)... pick the best target, let it go.

AND FINALLY... they run the kid... and he wasn't sliding on those plays... He is dangerous as a runner. Which they need to do a lot... If he gets hurt, he gets hurt, time to realize, you have to do what you have to do and roll the dice. High risk, high reward, is the way Dallas will have to play on offense.

And nice throw on the go route... Which I said Dak can throw Go routes, and quick short inside stuff before...

I didn't like the throw to Gallup on the sidelines, because I think it could have been timed, and placed for Beasley to have a huge gain on that one. He had a lot of space between what I believe was a LB and a safety.

BUT, one thing Dak did do, if anyone noticed... he started setting his feet on some of those throws. He couldn't get himself to do it every time... but I did catch him doing it. He also didn't look like a nervous e jackrabbit back there.

No, I am still not on the Dak train, because I feel we should have won this game, and the next 2 without question. I still don't think Dak is a franchise QB. But, this Dak is night and day from the Dak of last week.

But we still have to realize, sub 100 yards rushing, and 160 yards passing, is not going to beat good teams. Let us not kid ourselves here. But we might have a chance at a wild card spot though.

I still think when we face elite defenses, Dak is going to fold like a cheap suit. But, I still expect him to have above average games. They have to keep running him though. Design plays that are straight up QB runs.

The Giants started to have to worry about Dak in this game. Trust me, the Jaguars will not give him any respect. They will stack the box, and force him to beat them, and to beat them with passes, he will have to make all kinds of throws that are out of his comfort zone. But, to be honest if the Jags had an elite QB, no one could stop them. Yeah Bortles manages, but he is far from elite. Heck their D had no fear of Brady beating them... they didn't give Brady the respect he usually gets. That is one tough defense. If they aren't in the Super Bowl this year, it will be a huge surprise to me.

The holding crap has to stop... When Dak does make a good throw, you can't have it called back. Technically I focused on Tyron a good bit, and he wasn't called on a few that should have been. Tyron, is not Tyron anymore, for some reason... I think some of these big guys just wear out fast. He is still better then a lot of the tackles out there. But, his contract may have to be evaluated at the end of the season.

I think Looney definitely needs to stay with us, because he is better then I hoped for replacing Frederick. No he is not even in the same galaxy as Frederick... Because Travis can help the guards in ways Looney can not. But, for depth, he needs to stay.

DLAW... teams friggin respect, and fear DLAW... Man if you watch, he was getting triple teamed at times... Tackle and Guard, then center chipping him to... They were doing what they had to do to contain him. Flowers did better then I ever expected, but in a huge number of plays, DLAW was getting hit by the Tackle, Guard, and Center... You know you are the man when they do that lol. He never gives up either, until the whistle blows, he is like a mad dog. He is ferocious... needs to change his nickname from tank to mad dog, because he looks rabid.

You saw what effect he has on the offenses. because there were like 6 sacks. This is the effect DWARE had. You might see DLAWs sacks go down, but you will see other people's go up. Same thing happened with DWARE that made Hatcher look good.

DLAW stays healthy, we have to pay that man, because he is starting to look like a phenom. He is serious about football, and being the best I think. I don't think that look in his eyes are fake that you see on the sidelines, he is a hungry beast. I hope his body doesn't breakdown on him.

They showed him on the sidelines, with his hair down in front of his face, and crazy look in his eyes, and my wife was going OMG who is that... he looks crazy lol. Yeah for being such a good guy off the field, he sure looks like a switch is flicked at game time. But, it looks and feels genuine, not manufactured... he looks intense. He looked intense in some of the camp film. This man is going to be feared for a long time if he stays healthy. He has that Charles Haley look on the field.

LVE, Lee, & Jaylon... did a good job. I would say adequate for LVE as a rookie. I think he still is unsure of making commitments to what his instincts are telling him. Jaylon, looks like he can move, and we know he has all the physical gifts. Obviously stats don't say everything, because I think he led in tackles, but he made a lot of mental errors at times. Once those are out of the way though, he may turn into what we expected him to turn into. Because he trusts his body now, by the looks of it, which he should, because he is a physical specimen. Couldn't imagine that dude on PEDS, with the physical gifts he has lol.

LVE reminds me of the look Bosworth had in pads. Same number too, so now I know why I was getting those flashbacks... I just hope he can be better than the Boz was in the NFL.

I always like Heath, and still do... he is a gamer, and he comes to play, not to just get a paycheck.

Overall...

Defense:

I think our defense may be for real, if we stay healthy... and Sean Lee gets a hamstring transplant. But, I am not really worried about Lee, I don't see him playing much longer. He will be 33 before the next season starts. He isn't going to be playing much longer... I am guessing we will draft another LB again. Since we don't like to use FA for some reason.

I think they should take a shot at Clowney, if he doesn't sign a contract he is UFA after this season. He is also only 25 years old.

Anthony Barr is also UFA after this season and only 26.

Those 2 could be plug and play difference makers.

Byron was really good!

DLAW instills fear... in a way we have not seen since DWARE and Haley. Offenses will be scheming for him big time.

Offense:

Tyron isn't what he used to be.

Dak made improvements, but I still think we can find an elite QB. We need to keep running him. He made faster decisions with the ball.

Tavon, since using him worked so well with the Giants, why did we seem to quit using him?

Zeke, should be utilized more in the passing game, with pays designed to give him a chance. The screens we threw to him were already read by the defense.

These penalties have to stop... We seem to be at a point where if it is a solid play we have a 50/50 chance we didn't get flagged for a stupid holding penalty.

Dak made improvements, but I still think we can find an elite QB.

Really, please let us all know where can go out and get an elite QB. Since you seem to think its that easy.

Was very happy to see Eli 'NOT' enjoying playing in AT&T stadium. I guess the excitement of Jerry's World lost luster for him!!!

I look at it this way... if the offense can at least let the D rest... we will be doing better. Teams truly fear DLAW, and I wouldn't want to be the tackle lining up in front of him, he is off the chain aggressive now.

Not talking about this season...

You are correct but threads like this are needed to combat the glut of negativity here, especially after a win.

What did you disagree with? What bold stance? How bout giving some opinion other than some vague retort that only puts you on the fence, straddling like Lane Frost.

My expectations are a little higher after seeing some of the flaws of future opponents on our schedule... The Jags D is going to be brutal though... Unless we get lucky with about 4 injuries for them.

I'm hard on this team, but I'm not going to bash them in victory.

They weren't perfect. The team still looks like an 8-8 team to me. I expect 7 more wins and 7 more losses. We all know where the team needs to improve but people today seem like they are disappointed the team didn't lose so they can say "I told you so".
The O is a work in progress, but the D killed it! I'll take any kind of improvement from the O right now. The Giants weren't just going to lie down with their run defense, but the coaches found some new tricks, so I applaud them for the effort.

He goes off next week.

He had a few lanes but not enough. I would almost wager that 70-80% of his runs for less than 3 yards. That will not be good enough to beat most teams. For most of the game the running game would have been categorized as "ineffective". This team relies on a dominant run game and we have nothing close to that at this point.

Our D line is nasty. When we get Gregory back, as well as Irving, it will be elite. Our outside corners are proving to be elite...

To be honest on that one... I don't expect Irving to come back in football shape. He didn't show up to training camp in shape. Gregory... does anyone know what the Gregory mystery is with potential drug test info? The problems we hear about? Why wasn't he suited up if he cleared concussion protocol?
