Okay with WR Justin Hunter if these players are all taken?

If that happens then we should try and trade down, or we could just take Tavon or Cordarelle.

Is Dexter Coakley still on the board?

If all those guys are gone somebody else had to fall. Who's left? No on Hunter.

I am turning in the card with Tavon Austin on it under this scenario.

Cordarelle scares the crap out of me. IMO he's got no hands. Catches everything too close to his body. Guy is gonna have a tough time getting balls swatted away.

I'm assuming Tavon will be gone as well.

I'm just gonna scream when we trade down 12 spots and pick up only a 7th rounder.

Because you know that is how teams are built. Gotta have that 7th round pick to complete your draft.

They arent taking Hunter at 18.

Don't be so sure.....

The Dallas Cowboys announced Derek Dooley as the club’s wide receivers coach on February 4, 2013. Dooley comes to Dallas with 15-plus years of coaching experience, including six years as a head coach at the collegiate level and two years as an NFL assistant.

In Dallas, Dooley is re-united with head coach Jason Garrett after the two served on the same coaching staff with the Miami Dolphins from 2005-06.

Prior to joining the Dallas Cowboys, Dooley served as the head coach for the Tennessee Volunteers, where his club finished with a 15-21 record, earning a bowl berth in his first year. Dooley was named Tennessee’s 22nd football coach in 2010 and his first two recruiting classes included the SEC’s leading receiver in 2011 and a first-team All-SEC selection, six Freshman All-Americans, and eight players who were named Freshman All-SEC.

Also during Dooley’s tenure, quarterback Tyler Bray threw 69 touchdown passes and set the school record for highest completion percentage in a game. Wide receiver Justin Hunter also set a Tennessee freshman record with seven receiving touchdowns and averaged a team-best 25.9 yards-per-catch in 2010.

Just because Hunter did well as a freshman is NO sign he's worth the 18th pick in the NFL. He's got a grade that ranks him in the top third of the second round, and likely will get over-drafted in the last few picks of the first. No way he's worth #18.

Patterson scares the crap out of me. Catches everything too close to the body. I wanna see the hands snag a ball. He just doesn't do that.

Hunter reminds me a little bit of Randy Moss.

2nd year coming off that knee injury....Running 4.38 just screams of upside:bow:

He has plenty of upside, and I like him a lot; but we have better things to worry about at #18 than Hunter. It just makes no sense. Dez will be here for many more years dominating. We will have more opportunities and better ones to go after a WR later.

It's draft time and you're a much better fit to be drafted by the Ranch team IMO.

Hunter is a good player but I've seen Hunter come up short in games with UT inthe past couple of years. I believe Hunter will be a #2 WR inthe NFL at best.

If we talking Cowboys getting a WR inthe 1st round, I rather Cordarelle Patterson over Hunter, Hopkins, Austin, and Allen. I believe the sky is the limit for this kid and has the upside to be just a good as Calvin Johnson, Julio and AJ Green.

Ok, so that's 7 players, leaving 10 more that would be gone.

One of these guys would still be available.

Eric Fisher
Lane Johnson
Sharrif Floyd
Luke Joeckel
Dion Jordan
Dee Milner
Xavier Rhodes
Ezekiel Ansah
Barkevious Mingo
Bjoern Werner
Jarvis Jones
Justin Pugh

And I'm not including Tyler Eifert, Tavon Austin or Geno Smith. Odds are VERY high that at least 2 of those guys will be gone by 18. If any of those guys are available, I'd look to trade back before picking Werner, Pugh or Jones.

Definitely not. 2nd Rounder at best and still think they can get better value at later rounds. RB would be more vital for a 2nd Round pick but OL/DL/S/RB, any combination of those at 1 and 2
