Don't twist your ankle or strain your hamstring on this backpedal. We'd have to call you Matt Johnson for the former or Miles Austin for the latter.

Either way enjoy your moon walk.

Not walking anywhere. Your premise: had Tony done what Manning has done this season, they'd be burning down the stadium. If Tony was Eli, he'd have won two Superbowls over the past five years, I think that the fans would give him a pass for going 0-6 or 1-5 or whatever. It was a dumb premise that you should walk away from.

Tony Romo is a better QB than Eli Manning. He has been virtually every year since he became a starter in Dallas. It's reasonable to assume that had their positions been reversed the Giants would have had more success than the actual Giants did and the Cowboys would have experienced less success than we actually have.

So yes...this fanbase...you know the one I was talking about...would have run Eli Manning out of here long since...and would have been justified to do so.

What about the statements I have just made do you disagree with. Please be specific or don't bother.

Probably just not going to bother.

As John Mara, do you fire Coughlin?

As Tom Coughlin, do you bench Eli?

As bad as they are right now, my answers are no and no. How about you?

no and no, without much thought. IF Bill Cowher was interested and IF Coughlin wanted to retire, I'd make a move, but the Giants are 2 years removed from their 2nd SB in like 4-5 years.

Seriously, I think these guys are going for the Clowney Sweepstakes. No way they can be this crappy after going 9-7 last year.

I doubt it, they have a good team, so wasting a year to get Clowney wouldn't be something a rational team would do. What if Clowney suffers a catastrophic knee injury next week? then you wasted a year of Eli's prime trying to get a player who may or not be all that good.

I would trade Eli. Of course, I wouldn't even have him on my team to begin with.

No need to fire Coughlin. He's just a figurehead coach.

Why would you get rid of Eli? Haven't you read how great the kid is? He's got two SB rings that he won all by himself.

He' clutch, clutch, I tell you!

No to Eli. He's still a very good QB who's playing on a bad team. Unlike some posters believe, the NFL is not a one man game. It takes a team good on defense, special teams, offense and coaching to win.

Well, Romo has been on some terrible teams, but when the Cowboys lose, guess who gets the blame?

If some "fans" want to disregard the fact that it is a TEAM game, then I will go along with them and and say that Eli lost all his games so far. His team had nothing to do with the losses.

Very true. And the haters would be kicked back and smoking a cigarrette.

They already are! They are not quite half way through their cigar still talking about the Washington game...they will finish the rest of the cigar after they get their hate over from Romo's last game...

Not sure if anyone has said this, but SO HAPPY TO SEE MARA AND THE GIANTS sucking this year after that BS stunt he pulled on us with the cap hit the past two years. Karma is a...

No and No.

As bad is it looks, they are still just 2 games away from division lead.

The New York situation is pretty unique. It's not often that you had a two-time Super Bowl winning coach and QB leading an 0-6 team.

If it were any other coach or any other QB leading the league in picks, you might consider a change. But in their situation, I don't know how you could ever consider such a move.

Eli is playing almost as horrendously as anyone in the league, but just like in our situation when we see our QB making mistakes, it's not always all on the passer. He's getting hit left and right, hasn't had much of a running threat and is clearly pressing and trying to do too much. The Giants need to just hit the reset button and get ready for 2014 -- a season that will include Eli and Coughlin, assuming he doesn't retire.

Great post. Eli gets a pass because he's a two-time champion. It is what it is. He is isn't, and never has been, a consistently great player. He's never been a guy whose team consistently wins double-digit games. He's a turnover-prone QB. But he's also a two-time champion, and with that comes one helluva pass when he's playing poorly.

I do neither, because those are panic moves from where I sit. The problems with the NY Giants have less to do with those two particular components.
