Oklahoma State homecoming parade incident

It's all over the local news here. So far 3 dead and 34 in the hospital including 8-9 in serious and 8-9 in critical condition. I can't imagine being drunk by noon and doing something like this. The lady responsible was arrested and won't see another day outside of jail the rest of her life now.

Up to 4 dead, including a 2 year old. 10:30 am and possibly dui? Unreal.

DUIs at 10:30 AM are way more common than you'd think. We get calls (I'm a 911 dispatcher) at all times of the day with people drunk driving.

Of course, the vast majority don't end in a tragedy like this one, but it's insane how common it is at times when you'd never expect it.

That's crazy. Well, she'll be regretting boozing up on a Saturday morning and driving the rest of her life. Can't imagine the chaos that unfolded there. Very sad.

At first, I was thinking some nutjob drove through the crowd, intentionally.

It is a horrible story and I really can't think of a punishment too severe for the woman who ruined so many lives yesterday. My heart goes out to the good people who were just enjoying themselves at the homecoming parade and became victims of this senseless act.

Read an article where her attorney is saying it is due to mental illness, not booze.

Lawyer trying to make the case that she suffers from "Extreme mental episodes" and didn't know what she had done. Lawyer is claiming that he had to tell her that she hit and killed several people.

Of course her attorney says that. He's laying the groundwork for a "mentally incapable of standing trial," situation, or a reduced charge. A blood test will answer those questions really quickly.

Thanks Captain Obvious.

Bottom line is it proves that the method of death (guns, cars, swords) is not the issue. The issue is mental illness/addiction and how we deal with it as a society.

I'm sure you will come back with another condescending post. Can't wait to read it.

Wow.

I think you read my post wrong. I wasn't attacking you, nor being condescending. I was saying "of course her lawyer has already played that card."

Let your guard down a little bit.

As an uninterested third party, YOU sound like the one who is being condescending.
