Oklahoma State WR coach Gunter Brewer feels wr Bryant has 'Moss type talent' Hmm!

That's a pretty amazing statement from the coach.

This morning I heard Pat Jones talking a little about him, and he was comparing Dez to the old great OSU WR Hart Lee Dykes. Maybe some of you remember him... He was a mega prospect in the same way -- he actually won the national punt pass and kick competition *and* the baseball equivalent (pitch, catch, and hit or something) in the same year. Coach Jones said that recently, Hart Lee was standing around a bunch of OKC Thunder NBA players, and Jones asked a friend who was the best-looking athlete out of all of them. The friend didn't know who any of them were, and the guy he picked was Dykes... Even at age 42 or whatever he is. That's the kind of specimen he was. (Unfortunately, injuries derailed him in the pros.)

Anyway, Coach Jones said he thought Hart Lee was maybe a little bit taller and was a little better hand-eye athlete. He said Bryant was thicker, more muscular, better after the catch, and really hard to get on the ground once he got the ball in his hands. That does sound like TO.

If I heard it right, his workout in Lufkin is going to be tomorrow. If I remember, I'll try to listen to that station and see what they say about him. Maybe they'll mention the possible work ethic questions.

I remember that guy ... all the way back to when he was a high school recruit and a lot of people were shocked he picked Oklahoma State.

Some magazine (maybe SI) had a headline: "Hart Lee Nothing He Can't Do."

Dez can track the ball extremely well and has hands like Fitz...watch the film!
He will make multiple Pro Bowls if he works his butt off....EASY!
BEST HIGHLIGHT FILM I'VE SEEN! EVERY BALL THROWN TO HIM SEEMED TO BE OFF AND HE STILL MANAGED TO COME DOWN WITH IT!!

Dez Bryant is really nothing like Roy Williams other than maybe he looks like him in a jersey and they share similar heights and weights on a printed out roster. Roy Williams is a straight line runner who has trouble getting in and out of his breaks and changing direction without losing speed. Dez Bryant is outrageously nimble and agile for someone his size. Heavy footed guys don't return punts, and Bryant was a freakish punt returner at Oklahoma State. They only risked using him for special occasions, but in only 22 career punt returns he had 3 TDs and a 19.6 average. He won Big XII Special Teams player of the year as punt returner.

He may not have elite top end straight line speed that will translate to the 40, but he can stop and change directions on a dime amazingly well for a 220+ lbs. guy. Skillset wise, if he's to be compared to anyone it's to Andre Johnson or a young TO before he got too bulked up and old, when he still had his lateral foot quickness.

As an OU fan living an hour south of Stillwater, I'm saw more of this guy than I cared to. He is an amazing talent. I hate the Pokes almost as much as the Horns but I will readily admit that this guy is a beast. I never saw too much in the local news about him until recently. I'd be happy to see him in a star.
