well the refs refuse to call the OU OL for holding.....also, TT has gotten away with multiple blocks to the back. I was actually surprised when they called the one on the long run.

Seeing OU struggle against TT is not surprising, what is surprising is that it is happening at Norman. TT is always tough at home and lots of teams struggle when they go up to Lubbock. However, OU is an absolute juggernaut in Norman.

Even as bad as OU is playing, TT runs a fast paced offense, so that leaves OU plenty of time to come back...I hope TT wins, but I will never count OU out, especially in Norman, until the clock reaches 0.00

The blueprint was there to beat Oklahoma. Mizzou came out and punched them in the mouth and Kansas gave them a good fight for one half too. I just wasn't sold on OU being legit contenders this season, they're still one year away IMO (assuming Landry comes back). They make a lot of mistakes, even in the Texas whooping, they had like 9 penalties. The defense is young and is seemingly inconsistent

Picking the top 10 and letting them battle it out playoff style stands a better chance than picking the top 2 and letting them decide the championship. It won't be perfect because there is too many teams but that's the best way.

You really think picking 10 is better than picking 2? How do you determine who is top 10? If you take the final BCS top 10 you have the following:

1 Auburn 13-0
2 Oregon 12-0
3 TCU 12-0
4 Stanford 11-1
5 Wisconsin 11-1
6 Ohio State 11-1
7 Oklahoma 11-2
8 Arkansas 10-2
9 Michigan State 11-1
10 Boise State 11-1

and the teams being left out:

11 LSU 10-2
12 Missouri 10-2
13 Virginia Tech 11-2
14 Oklahoma State 10-2
15 Nevada 12-1

You just increased the teams being left out from 1 to 5. You also made it easier to get into the title tournament and all the teams that might regularly have two or three losses will schedule easier non-conference opponents to make sure they don't lose those games. The five left out in 2010 will grow. The postseason is more entertaining but it isn't more fair and the regular season is watered down a little.

I hate the BCS but the system needs to be overhauled, not patched. Create however many conferences are needed and take their champions into a tournament.

Top 8 is a start... will never be perfect...

How do we decide who's in the top 2 now?! I'm just saying going to 10 would be better, not that'd it be perfect. I just think in most cases the best team in the country would be in the top 10 ranking. They just may be #9 at the time so they'd have a chance to wind up on top.

My only issue with expanding is the more you expand and pick based on votes the more teams you leave out in the cold. Invite 8 conference champions and leave it at that imo. If Nebraska and OU do not have to worry about non-conference losses they will start playing their rivalry again.

And I hate that... the undefeated team isn't necessarily the best... it's a farce...

1984 BYU wins the NC? PLEASE... the whole system is a joke...

They were a fine team... best in the country... nope...

All I heard in 1985 was we did not deserve that title, the Washington Huskies did at 11-1.

3rd game of the season we played them at our house.

We took them to the woodshed.

Terrible call by Tubberville... why?

He can't rely on his defense to win the game for him. If Tech does not put up more points the Sooners will come back to win. It was foolish to go for it in your own territory but we have seen other big name coaches do the same. Belichick versus Manning a couple of years ago, Pete Carroll versus Texas in the NC game.

Wait... I thought you were an Arizona guy...

That whole season was a farce...

Schedule:

Pitt
Baylor
Tulsa
Hawaii
Colorado St
Wyoming
Air Force
New Mexico
UTEP
SDSU
Utah
Utah St
Michigan (Holiday Bowl) (6-5)

That is NOT a NC schedule with all due respect, my friend...

I can't figure out why I want OU to win this one. For TAMU to win the conference a Tech win is the best outcome but I can't help myself from cheering for OU.

Landry Jones probably moves to the front of the Heisman list if they come back and win. Would be a big signature game

IMHO the major conferences should have sent someone other than Michigan to beat BYU in the Holiday Bowl if they wanted to take away their NC hopes. Oklahoma and Washington played each other instead, leaving it in the hands of voters.
