^^Yep. This is a rebuilding Texas Tech team that wasn't even guaranteed to get to a bowl game this year. Gotta be one of the biggest upsets

You can't be a top 10 team, much less top 5 and give up 41 at ANY time... and at HOME? OU helps solidify the dominance of the SEC...

Wait... I thought you were an Arizona guy...

That whole season was a farce...

Schedule:

Pitt
Baylor
Tulsa
Hawaii
Colorado St
Wyoming
Air Force
New Mexico
UTEP
SDSU
Utah
Utah St
Michigan (Holiday Bowl) (6-5)

That is NOT a NC schedule with all due respect, my friend...

No doubt.

And I thought it was OU who a lot of people thought had the claim to the title that year.

And like you said earlier, Tuberville is a heck of a coach. My dad went to Tech, and I told him I thought they'd upgraded. I think it was a big score for Tech to get him.

Tech was the first DECENT passing attack OU saw this year and they got torched.

So much for the whole SEC caliber defense.

Man... Stoops fricked that up... shoulda taken the 3 earlier...

Now... it's over...

That's what I was thinking too.

Time is more important than actually scoring the TD right there.

You need to ensure you get the ball back.

Take the FG on that earlier 4th (provided the guy can make it) and then come back with the TD later.

I was thinking that too but you saw why he didn't want to try the FG.

Yeah this win will temporarily shut up those that complain about Tuberville and say Leach >>>>

It will take some time but he will get them more relevant long-term than Leach did IMO. He brings credibility which helps in the recruiting and in his 2nd year, they're already running the ball way better than Leach's teams ever could. If he can continue to recruit some players on defense, the transition will be complete.

Yep... MAJOR guffaw... he put the pressure back on his team ten-fold...

As bad as OU was tonight, Stoops screwed this up ROYALLY...

Yes, you had homefield advantage, but you don't have a homefield guarantee...

Very poor job by Stoops tonight managing the game... or should we say "Stupes"...

I graduated at Arizona. I coached there. Yes, I am an Arizona guy. I played at BYU and am still loyal. Like I said, everyone said Washington was the real #1 but we throttled them in 1985. That team would have beat anyone they put on the schedule that year and they did.

And I hate that... the undefeated team isn't necessarily the best... it's a farce...

1984 BYU wins the NC? PLEASE... the whole system is a joke...

They were a fine team... best in the country... nope...
I guess when enough voters that remember that freaking joke die, a Boise St might make the championship game.

Well with OU and Wisconsin both losing, this gives Potato St. a definite top 5 spot for the remainder of the season.

So you are blaming Stoops because the receivers were dropping passes, Jones was wild with his throws, the Kicker missed 2 FGs, including one late that would have sent the game into OT, and the players had a few turnovers, I just don't get it.

If anything, blame Coach Vulnerable, his defense was absolutely raped in the first half. In the 2nd half, they played better, but still gave up 17 points.

Blame the players for being careless with the football or not catching the ball when they should have.

Jones was flawless against Texas. He made every throw. His receivers caught everything thrown to them, especially in the 1st half. The defense completely shut down the Horns. This game was an exact opposite.

BTW, I would say the lightning delay had a lot to do with the struggles of OU. They were the home team. They had all the energy. They had the home field advantage, the crowd, the adrenaline. But when the delay happened, it sucked all that away for a bit. It seems that both teams came out as if to be the road team. On many occasions, weather has been the great equalizer.

Stanford is the team I said was going to be the one to beat. Looking true.

Yep, apparently a lot of Tech boosters hated to lose Leach's offense, but Tuberville will focus on defense, which you have to in order to truly be any good. And if he wants to run the ball, which he does, he can probably get some good backs since that's not much of an emphasis anymore.

And really, I don't see why they can't do it. Let's face it, there isn't a lot of focus on defense in college football these days. The better SEC teams still play great defense, but that's about it.

No... read closer... I'm blaming him for not kicking the FG... you went in to way too much detail...

You take the (attempted) points there... no question... he cost his team way too much time...
