over the last 9 games (beginning with ATL) they have yielded 29 sacks ... that would suggest Dak is looking at 50 sack season in 2018

in 2016 Zeke averaged 5.1 ypc, since then only 1 game above 5.0

the stats above are probably why we have a new OL coach (can't remember his name)
then 6 sacks to open his coaching career in DAL

I'm not an OL guy - I can tell you all about passing schemes ... how to cover / how to beat coverage, try me any time - tactically or strategically - I know passing games

if there are any OL gurus in the house please explain a few things for us

it's near 5 months since Conner was drafted to play LG, why hasn't he powered up? is he maxed out?
that just seems weird (to put it nicely)

IMO, Collins played slightly better than Doug Free last year, and last game: will he ever be above average?

Looney looked ok in protection (to me), but couldn't make a combo block on the 2nd level
is he a viable long term option at C?

and can anybody explain to me how Chaz, and now Fleming (when last seen), just seem to have forgotten how to play the game? is that coaching? brain lock? just don't care? a new drug? ... what?
again - weird (to put it nicely)

moreover, what are the odds the unit get better quick?

Connor Williams is LT who is playing guard for first time. He came in weaker than most expected. That will change with year of strength & conditioning. If you watch Williams closely he does same thing, he gets beat badly early then settles in. That tells me he just lacks experience and has pretty good technique.

He’s an athlete. Dallas needs a brute at LG. Tired of saying this...but I don’t understand why Dallas has a line of technique guys. You need some dirty if you want a power rushing team. It’s a must. Put a Leary at LG in that game? Car isn’t having their way upfront like they did.

One thing Dallas does well is OL. I don't really question them on that front. Williams will be fine and just needs year.

I don’t have a problem with Williams like I see everyone bashing him all over. What I have a problem with,is they’re lacking a brute on the line. You got to have one for the offense they want to be. It’s built for power rushing. They’ll have to find one,or physical fronts will continue to give them problems. I want a power LG. I think Dallas is thinking Sua Filo fits that mold.

Zack Martin and Travis Frederick are pretty brutish if you ask me. Unfortunately Frederick isn't healthy.

that year that CWilliams my have detrimental effects all the way to coaching.

I think you need to do some research on this topic.
I can’t believe this...you guys don’t know this line at all. Come on man....they’re “technique oriented players”. Don’t you all listen to the shows? They’ve talked about it...”We need another power G like Leary.” You need that Nate Newton,Nate Livings,Ronald Leary type of nasty power guard player. It’s the one ingredient they’re missing and Dallas knows it too.

Rookies are rarely if ever maxed out physically. Everybody knew he needed a season in the NFL to be ready.

He was not all bad in the game. The Panthers have 2 very powerful and quick DTs. It does not get better with the Giants and Snacks Harrison.

Tyron made multiple mental mistakes (mental NOT back related).

Free didn't play last year.

What plays do you think were bad for Collins?

Fred is expected to play this year. Looney was reasonably good.

Agreed. Looney wasn’t overwhelmed by the pressure in pass protection, but doesn’t get the kind of push Fredrick does in run blocking

He’s a fine & versatile G/C backup, which is always a good thing to have on a team

He’ll have Snacks Harrison in front of him this week, so it will get tougher. Hope he holds up

Williams looked like he struggled a bit.

(Rookie NYG LG Will Hernandez had 2-4 big screw ups the first few drives too. But he settled in & looked ok most of the rest of the game; live fire vs preseason showed for both guys)

Overall, I think the lack of preseason snaps showed. Hoping Smith, Martin, & Collins improve and that Williams just keeps working. If that group can make Leary & Cooper better players, Williams should do fine

Tell you what guys...go to camp or practice and watch the o-line drill. I already know what you’ll see. Them working on “technique” it’s what they’re about. Arms, footwork, pulls ect. They’re not about raw power. They’re great at it mind you,but they need that Leary to give them that perfect balance to things. A nasty guy who will bulldoze and finish you off into the dirt, and fart on you for good measure.

I think Dallas preferred Hernandez at guard but he was gone by their second round pick. It may have been best to take Hernandez in the first and a LB in the second but if they did that people's heads would have exploded.

That's why you ignore what people want and do what you think is best as an organization.

Every player on the line is a boss exception williams. I'm not sure what you are thinking.

They all have good technique but none of them will be mistaken for Jeff Saturday.

They other 4 would rank very high on a list of most powerful at their positions (Fred not Looney).

Once a week for 3 years, while driving an hour to work I listened to caller after caller on the LSU sports radio complaining about Collins being an underachiever. I was shocked when he was touted as a high level 1st round pick. After 7 years watching him be slightly above average I'm fairly convinced he never going to live up to the perceived potential fans expect!

I think that’s exactly who they wanted, and I did too. Just didn’t pan out that way.

He’s a rookie. It’s 1 game. Get a grip....
