The pass protection has been really good. It is still too early for me to 100% "buy in" due to the atrocious play we have been subjected to the last couple of years. Like the majority of you, I'm really excited about Travis. Waters has been a very solid addition and seems to have help settle the line because there are no more moving targets. Still would like to see much improved run blocking. Last night they could not run for a first to run out the clock.

Concerns going forward:

Can Leary stay healthy?
How long can Waters stay productive?
Will the team continue to invest in the OL?
Can the run blocking improve?

They are on pace to allow 37 sacks -- 1 more than last year's 36. Having said that, I think the overall pass protection seems much better. I haven't a chance to look at the number of pressures, knockdowns, etc vs last year.

The team is rushing for 4.2 ypc this season which is .6 yards more carry than last year's 3.6.

Impossible. All off season long I was told Jerry is an idiot for not addressing our woefull OL and that would be the downfall of this season. From the beginning of free agency thru the draft and preseason there were OL threads in here every day proclaiming these things.

I'm not ready to anoint them as a great unit but I will say they are solid and seem to be getting better. And, as much as I was against bringing in Waters, I think he may be the MVP of the line because of his obvious professionalism.

You can't judge a offensive line based on "sacks" though. The last two games they have been more coverage sacks than anything. You can't get mad at the offensive line for holding their blocks for 4 or 5 seconds and still getting the sack.

I expect them to replace Waters with a Free Agent in the off-season and use the early draft picks on the DLine.

Exactly. Couldn't say it better myself.

If you notice sometimes Romo eats the sack this year instead of trying to make a play the results in a turnover. Years before Romo wasnt careful with the ball at times but it seems he has ball control now. Sacks dont tell the whole story, also I noticed Romo holds the ball much longer then he has in the past and that can put pressure on the protection

he realized he screwed up and went desperately for a 36 year old free agent. he could have had another rookie starter and good one in Warford instead of Escoscrub

Warford is fat and slow and wouldn't thrive in this scheme. Quite frankly, I'm tired of seeing his name on this board.
