my guess is we will get one vet FA as depth this year and roll with what we got.

i also think that jerry likes to stick with what he knows that works and so far we have had success in building the OL in FA. i know thats not the way we prefer it but i think jerry was not going to take any OL high in the draft and most likely doesn't plan to next year.

so with all the extra FA that will be available next year due to all the RFA from this year i predict that if any holes along the line at the starting positions need to be filled it will be in FA next year, and probably most other years as well.

I hope it's a tackle cause we got guard covered..

lol we need adam to come tell us all the potential tackles that could hit FA next year provided a new CBA is in place

need vet safety more than lineman.

realistically, Holland gave us flexiblity. Davis may not excell at LT but he is experienced at it and played it well enough that the line would be okay if he had to play it and put holland in his spot.

I think I see the oline plan, and unless two guys get hurt(KNOCK ON WOOD) we should be okay.

safety we don't have a veteran, and I don't think that's okay.

Our bench talent at safety is a lot better than our bench talent at swing tackle right now. And OT is a more important position to have coverage at. We need an experienced vet at OT for sure, and we should wait to see what we think we have at S.

I'm pretty excited by some of the FA talent we brought in after the draft, actually, and I think there may be 3 or even 4 players in this group that could benefit the team down the road if we are able to keep them around. I'd hate to lose out on one or two of them b/c we kept a veteran journeyman unnecessarily.

We have an experienced vet offensive tackle already on the roster, Leonard Davis.

that's the play this season, right or wrong, it's the play, unless something changes in training camp.

Maybe. It's not a very good plan, if that's the plan.

Davis at LT isn't optimal. It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would mean weakening two OL positions instead of one, where I think there will likely be a T option as good as Davis available eventually in FA.

I think we will work with what we have with a couple of exceptions. Something to good to pass up drops in our lap or we have a player go down for 4 weeks or longer. One thing that bothers me is we have lost an offensive lineman 2 years in a row in Green Bay and we have to go there again this year. Hopefully we fair better this time around.

My OL prediction? Doug Free will be a star by year's end and all of the detractors will have broken the suspension on the bandwagon hopping on in droves.

My prediction is that Free is a line favorite by midseason.

Just like last year.
