OL Run Block Win Rate

Yeah it's almost like all these calculations from the stat geeks aren't worth the time to read.

It could be a case of that too. I’m not sure how accurate these win rate measurements are, let alone how they are completely devoid of context. For example, the pass blocking win rate is essentially if you can hold your linemen for more than 2.5 seconds. Is that even valid, considering the average time a QB release is under 2.8 seconds, meaning .3 seconds is hardly enough time to even get 1 foot closer to the QB after getting around a lineman. Brady when he leads the league is generally out in 2.4 seconds per the stat.

Stats like this are BS. Who judges? Did they know the assignments? There have not been ANY openings the last 4 weeks, except on rare occasions. Even on Pollard's TD run, there was an unblocked defender 4 yards in the backfield. Our run blocking has been absolutely atrocious for a while.

The struggles started when Connor Williams was benched, it takes time to build cohesion

A couple penalties here and there are not enough to justify the benching of a guy that gets consistent push, as opposed to his replacement.

That number would be crazy had the OL kept the form they had during the streak.

Also, Cowboys DTs better show up today or it's gonna get ugly.

McGovern insertion coincided with the run game fully apart, make the change now

After a play is ran, yes, it is pretty easy to determine blocking assignments 90% of the time. I'm sure these grades are not 100% accurate, but that doesnt invalidate them.

The defender on the Pollard run is completely irrelevant. That was a DE being blocked by a WR, which has 0 effect on this data. Yes, I wish the WR could have chipped the DE quicker, but the WR kept his body in front of the defender and ultimately he did enough to keep him from making a play. Overall that play was blocked to near perfection. They pulled 3 people on the play, let the back side run free on purpose, and opened a hole most of us posting on here could have ran through. The only player that really touched Pollard was 8 yards down field. This is actually the type of run I would love to see more of as our Oline is geared toward a finesse style, not the power run offense we have tried to be the last few weeks. This play is also a great example of what seems to be chaos, but is in fact designed and executed beautifully, yet some fans will look at this as an example of why the oline should be shamed.

This stat is bunk! Cowboys Oline has stunk all season long. They don't get any push, don't open any holes or create any lanes for our RBs in between the Tackles, and they constantly fail to convert any 3rd or 4th & 1s for 1st downs...or at the goal line.

Tell me you don't understand individual win rates, without telling me you don't understand individual win rates....

This is just one piece of data, don't turn it into more than that.

Can't believe I'm saying this after years of begging for McGovern over CW.....but I wish they would go back to what worked best....which included Steele at RT and McG in that FB/TE role.

Also Biadasz' run blocking seems to have dropped off big time. He was excellent in that regard early on.

Seems like just as he cleaned up the snaps and iffy pass blocking, the wins in the run game went away.

Or, the team's best back has been hobbled and his backup isn't a starter
And when one is hobbled, it makes it more likely that they don't hit the hole at the right time, same with a backup RB. I'm not saying either of them suck, just stating a possible reason for the lack of production.

That is not true at all. Dallas has been really good at running the ball this year when they commit to it.

I don’t know what team you guys watch on Sunday that makes you believe our OL is some big weakness..

When Tyron Smith plays our line is way above above average.

Everyone in the NFL knows it too.

In general NFL Offensive lines are absolute garbage because nobody spends the resources on them.

It's unbelievable how so many just go with the narrative. Not sure if people just struggle to actually evaluate OL play, or dont understand our OL vs the rest of the league. I get this isn't the unit of the mid 90s, but by todays standards this is an above average OL.

Defenses have started running a lot of delayed blitzes on us. That forces our OL to swap and the RB has to find another hole. The best way to beat a late blitz is with a fullback.

If the RB can't bounce it outside on a blitz up the middle, that means our TE and WR aren't getting it done.

What we do know is, once they reshuffled the players up front, the run game has really struggled. Think they either have to play Conner Williams or kick Collins inside
