Either Proctor or Berger will be gone... McQ, Free and Marten will make the final roster.

mcquistan, berger and procter arent going anywhere.

Think in terms of roster spots.

Jim molinaro, marco rivera and tray darilek will now most likely be off the roster for marten and free.

This what I was thinking as well especially with Jim Molinaro who isn't anything special anyways.

My first guess at the depth chart. I think we carry 10 linemen and 2 kickers.

QB - Romo, B. Johnson, M. Baker (3)
RB - MBIII, J. Jones, T. Thompson (3)
WR - Owens, Glenn, Crayton, Hurd, Austin, Stanback (6)
TE - Witten, Fasano (2)
FB - Polite, D. Anderson (2)
OT - Adams, Columbo, Marten, Free (4)
OG - L. Davis, Kosier, McQuistan, Procter (4)
C - Gurode, Berger (2)
Offense - 26

DE - Spears, Canty, Hatcher, Bowen (4)
NT - Ferguson, Stanley, Ratliff (3)
OLB - Ware, Spencer, Ellis, Burnett (4)
ILB - Carpenter, Ayodele, James (3)
CB - Newman, Henry, Glenn, Jones, Reeves (5)
SS - Williams, Davis (2)
FS - Hamlin, Watkins (2)
Defense - 23

K - Gramatica, Folk
P - McBriar
LS - Ladouceur
Special Teams - 4

r u serious? Do you watch ratliff? He is a high energy, aggressive pass rush player. He fits wade phillips perfectly. He thinks he is a double digit sack guy, he has attitude.

He is one of the guys I suspect will improve with this system.

Marten, the OL from B.C.--------thought i caught he can actually play all 3 positions on the OL...............backup center

would be a huge plus for roster, cap etc.......

Just my opinion. If he makes it at backup DE, then so be it. But i think Stanley will take the backup NT job.

It wouldn't be completely impossible to keep 10 OL on the 53 man roster, and only activate 8 of them. You could get away with that.

LT: Flo, Free
LG: Kosier, McQ
C: Gurode, Berger
RG: Davis
RT: Columbo, Marten

so my odds are that Proctor is out

Also by your logic, Rivera is out as well.

I would rather cut Bowen and keep Ratliff. I hope we don't carry two kickers because ILB is taking the hit for the extra kicker.

Moore instead of Baker at QB.

Also, I don;t see us carrying two FB's. Hoyte, by your list, is gone.

We need a third TE.

None of the rookies at CB make the team? Even as projects?

The Spencer pick make sme wonder about Ellis. Maybe he moves back to the line and Bowen is out.

I don't usually use this language, but cut Ratliff? H@LL no!!! I personally think Ratliff is a better player than both Spears and Canty. Without his injury could very well be starting at one of their spots. His dual-role abilities draft status and injuries has him as backup IMO. But make no mistake Ratliff is both a player and gamer. I love this guy.

A Ball makes the practice squad, and Courtney Brown makes the roster.

Dallas should keep at least one more linebacker, who will be very active on special teams as well...

and since both new 'rook' tackles, double at guard, then Procter or Berger gets cut....

On backup qb, unless Moore or Baker just really stands out, one of them should be on the practice squad and free up a roster spot by carrying two qbs again.

Offense:

OL - It's amazing how everyone has seen something different re who we keep. Adams/Kosier/Gurode/Davis/Colombo with Marten/Free/McQuistan & probably Proctor; Proctor started taking snaps last year at center when it clear Johnson wouldn't be back. We might be able get a late pick if Berger plays well and we can showcase him. Total - 9

QB - Romo/Johnson. Backup on PS Total - 2
WR - TO/Glenn/Crayton/Stanbach/Austin/Hurd Total 6
RB - Jones/Barber/? Total 3
FB - Anderson Total 1
TE - Witten/Fasano/? Total 3

Defense:

DL - Spears/Ferguson/Canty w/Ratliff/Stanley/Hatcher Total 6
LB - Ware/Ayodele/Carpenter/Ellis/Spencer w/Burnett/Hoyte/Glymp + 1 more
Total 8
CB - Newman/Henry/Glenn/Reeves/Brown Total 5 Ball to PS
S - Williams/Hamlin/Watkins/Elams/Davis Total 5

ST - McBriar/Gramatica/Folk/Ladouever 4

If I've add up correctly, total comes to 52.

PS - Except for Ball & 3rd QB, I haven't a clue. It possible if Folk looks good but needs time, he could be sent to the PS leaving us room for 1 more player. Assume both Ellis & Stanbach will be fully healthy and ready to go full stop, but if not & looks like either need frew more weeks then PUP is a possibility which could temp open 2 more spots.

We go 10 deep unless there is a training camp or preseason injury. This may be Flo's last season. I hate carrying 5 OT's but I don't want to risk losing any of them.

Free might end up on Injured Reserve, being hurt in the fourth quarter of the last preseason game.

In order to keep some draft picks I think a guy like Cory Proctor could be served his walking papers.... I don't count Rivera because we all know he won't be back in a Cowboys uniform in 2007
