I don't know what kind of relationship Parcells had with TO but I do know as HC he was not going to get into the he said or did this like Andy Reid did with the media, what the heck do you think would have happened had BP said TO is just a horses ars and difficult to deal with? If this makes Parcells a liar in some peoples mind then so be it but I think Parcells has been around the media long enough to know which pit fall to avoid. I do think Jerry is the one who approached the subject of signing TO and Parcells went along with it.

Based on the past tendencies of both Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells, that's a very logical assumption.

Owen questioning why we cut Vandy, him whinning about not getting the ball despite the fact he got more passes thrown to him than any WR on this team. Was all of that really bad? No. We may hear more about the relationship now that BP is no longer here

Personally, I don't much care whose decision it was to bring Owens in.

I'm not sure why Parcells even needs to deal with this issue publicly. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Guess what, Bill?

TO (as much as I cannot stand his persona) was not the reason why we did not make it to the Super Bowl. Our offense was ranked 5th - that's good enough to get your ticket punched for the big dance.

The problem was the defense falling apart in the final leg of the race - something you continually strived to prevent. You came up short of your own expectations there ... that's where the focus should be. TO is just window dressing.

You had a great opportunity and were given all of the control and flexibility to make it happen. You did some very positive things in the personnel and work ethic areas, as you said. Fine. Hang your hat on those accomplishments, but stop trying to cite excuses for coming up short of your ultimate goal - you were the one who walked away before the goal was reached.
