Old style kid games / talents

WISHED we had that capability; would've been super sweet most deft! Even the regulation baskets were always slants downward from older kids dunking on them too much, etc. (jagoffs:D)

We didn't have that either until we hit 12yrs old or so when the BB goals came out that we could install on the side of the driveway. Then it was game on!

We used to play that game too but we called it 'butts up'.

I guess we were just using the wrong terminology after all because they are the same games. Even taking the grabbing the ankles aspect but never used racquetballs thankfully (for my sake).

Funny miss communication relating to a seperate subject. We all saw the movie "White Men Can't Jump" movie (would've been around age 8-10) and wrongly took the movie references to "hustling" as to mean playing "rough bb court rules" where fouls aren't supposed to be called. "You wanna play BB "hustle" rules was a common question heading to recess? Stupid kids

They didn't hurt that bad considering we went to school with a few pairs of undies and shorts on underneath our pants :lmao:

It was the stinger on the lower back that hurt.

Oh yeah.....I rode a unicycle for the B.P.O.E Elks lodge for several years.

Did Parades and performances where we square danced on them.

Rode a six footer one year in the 4th of July parade.

Can still ride it............

Yep. I'm a dork.

When I was in elementary school, there was a park a few blocks that had a pretty good size merry go round. We would all pile on, and one of us would get on the inside, and push the merry go round as fast as we could. The object for the kids holding on, was to do so for as long as you could without getting thrown off, and or throwing up. For the one pushing, to throw off as many as you could. I must have had really strong legs for my age, because I could usually clear the ride, and the kids that didn't get thrown off were usually sick to the point of throwing up. I remember one time I had it spinning so fast, it threw one of my best friends a good 15 feet or so off of the ride into a sand pile. He was ok other than a few scratches. He was so dizzy he couldn't stand for a good 5 minutes or so.

Yea, that was always fun. We did that after we swung as high as we could on a swing-set then jump off as far as we could.

We used to do that all the time as well. Thinking back, it probably explains a lot of our behavior once we got a little older, what with the oxygen deprivation and all.
