Oline Looked Better

I was thinking the same thing for most of the game yesterday. Washington's DL is no joke and the Cowboys OL kept them off Rush all day. The one sack they took was Cooper eating the ball to run the clock and force a time out rather than throwing it away which he could have done to avoid the sack.

The guy who impresses me is Brock Hoffman. He is a tough SOB and takes no garbage from anyone. Richards looks better at LT than Guyton who committed 4 penalties yesterday, although the holding call was BS. I brought this up a number of times, but when refs see a defensive lineman go to the ground they throw the flag assuming he was tackled or dragged down. That's what happened to Guyton who was called when the defender he was blocking lost his balance.

Still 3 presnap penalties for lining up incorrectly and a false start is too much.

Cooper Rush looked like absolute trash the two games before yesterday - OL gets shaken up, and all of a sudden the QB and offense plays well. Coincidence? No.

The OL and DL have long been the #1 problem with this team and now we are finally seeing it

Hoffman looked good in there at LG. I think it shows that Martin has really struggled healthwise and just needs to heal up. Hate to see him so worn down.

Could this be a better lineup: Tyler Smith - TJ Bass - Cooper Beebe - Brock Hoffman - Tyler Guyton
hoffman earned a fan in me today

I watched a washed-up slow RB not make it to the LOS to hit holes. Even Stevie Wonder could see it.
Funny, because most of the time he's got 1 or 2 guys one him when he gets the ball. That has nothing to do with how fast or slow a RB is.
When you have to dodge guys or break a tackle to get to the line, of course you're there slower than when you don't.

Agreed. Same goes for when Dak has been QB. The problem is our Oline and how Mike Solari has no clue who to start and at what position(s).

I would switch Hoffman, Bass and Beebe to this starting lineup:

LT: when healthy >>> - Tyler Smith - <<< while recovering from injury ... - Asim Richards.
LG: Cooper Beebe (his snaps at Center are still inconsistent and shouldn't be a problem this late into the season. move Beebe to his natural college position of LG).
C: undeniably Brock Hoffman. His snaps are more pure, accurate and automatic. Plus, he fires out and has some fight in him on every play. We saw it yesterday. Our Center always sets the tempo for the rest of the Oline. Hoffman would be best starting at Center.
RG: TJ Bass. Is there any doubt? Bass should be our starting RG. Zack Martin is finished and no longer starting material.
RT: move Tyler Guyton to his college natural position and alternate him and Terence Steele every series to determine which one should ultimately start the rest of this season. Both are too inconsistent and commit too many penalties. Have to find out which is best to start at RT going forward.

What? He's still the best RG in the game. Never missed a block or committed a penalty. You'll need to wait a couple years after he's retired to say these things. Not that they aren't true. Some people are still living in 2018 though.
coming from the guy that claimed martin had been declining for years. Same player that was ALL PRO last year and you said he stank then.
I guess if you say something long enough it finally comes true

Hoffman has better snaps that is true; but at the second level Beebe is better. Beebe has done pretty well vs some top DTs and Hoffman has not played them. So it is not as cut and dried as you claim
Beebe has done very well playing a position for the first time

We can have this exchange as many times as you like. No amount of defending will change the fact that he has been in decline and has now perhaps played his last snaps. Like I said, a lot of folks were living in 2018 when it comes to their assessment of his play.

Hoffman has shown during preseason (both 2023 and 2024) how he can block well enough at Center against quality DTs. Yes, Beebe blocks better at the 2nd level, hence why he would be more productive at LG where he could pancake LBs after rubbing off NT combo blocks with Hoffman at Center or Tyler Smith at LT. Plus, on pulling traps or screens, Beebe would be more dominant playing his college natural position of Left Guard. Also, Brock Hoffman's Center snaps are much more accurate, plus he fires out at the same time, thus enabling him to get a quicker jump on opposing NTs/DTs.

Agreed 100%. Zack Martin is done. Finished. No longer what he used to be. He gets beat too often nowadays.

I was extremely pleased with the Oline play, especially because (coming into the game with the injury reports) I thought it was going to be a sieve for the Washington defense.

It's definitely worth looking into on getting some of these youngers guys some time to play and gel.

This is just completely ignoring what I am saying.

You said Elliott had no room to run behind and you’re not listening Dowdle runs behind the same exact line . He runs hard hits the hole and gets positive yards . Elliott should be cut he has no place on a 2025 roster .

The Elliott touches should go to Leupke and let’s see if Vaughn should fight for a roster spot in 2025 by giving him more 2024 action.
