Friday the track starts, and there are far more fans of the sport than you'd think.

Sydney McLauglin just ran a world record 400hurdles and there is no doubt she can go faster, people will be watching.

110hh Grant Holloway just ran a 12,81 the world record is 12.80, can he become the first sub 12,80, people will be watching.

As we can see she has "star" written all over her, something the sport needs right now.

Well duh....

What do you expect to happen when you spit in half of the country's face?

I used to LOVE watching the Olympics. I would be glued to the TV for several weeks when it would come around every few years.

But this year......I haven't watched a single minute or read a single news article about it. And you know what? My world is still spinning very well, and I have a lot of extra time to do more important family things.

It's their loss.....not mine.

I'm sure all the Olympians are taking the news hard Rob.

Anyone but me ever notice these types of threads always have the same formula...?

1) Someone posts about how ratings are down by millions of people
2) Someone follows up (1) by giving the reason they are no longer watching
3) Someone sarcastically ridicules poster (2) with a sarcastic comment about how they will not be missed

Newsflash: When there's 15 million poster (2)'s then yeah, they kinda are/ missed.

When you lose half the audience from a previous Olympics which if I remember correctly were down from the ones before, then the fallout will be huge.

Only the stupid and agenda driven will deny that.

I have watched the Olympics for over 50 years. Been a huge Fan; was real shook up by the Munich Olympics and what happened there. I never missed either Summer or Winter from that point on.

Until the last two summer and winter ones. The commercialism and politics and me me me was so bad I stopped caring.

Millions are just like me; and those wanting to say we don't matter are the real morons.

Now its even worse; I will not watch a single event or moment or anything to do with any olympics in the future either.

Yeah I mainly only watch the track and field and men’s basketball. I do like watching the finals for most events but not all of the qualifying events.

Those were the days when when heroes were crowned. My favorite was Carl Lewis in 84'.

Carl Lewis the greatest track AND field athlete, like Jesse Owens he was a better long jumper than sprinter.
