I mean its the first pre-season game and there was some good to come out of not playing well on special teams. Its all mental when it comes to the things we do wrong on the field. The guys may have been a bit cocky and just thought they could waltz in there and dominate no matter what backups or starters were mixed in. Now the coaches can coach...thats the whole point of the damn game. They have several things to correct and believe you me they will fix special teams. Its all about hype and motivation and the media...let the BSPN and bayless and all the other haters talk there mess and watch us rise to the occassion. I got to tell ya im starting to get tired of the sky is falling threads all the time. I dont post that often and i shouldnt because im rambling...I just wanted to clear the air about how people need to man up and get rid of there manginas. Post positive threads and constructive threads. Let the trolls invade then we will crush them...dont worry everyone its going to be a special year! Go Boys:star:

oh snap another fella from IL! :D

you'll realize around here even if we won but 300 points people would still find something to complain about...kinda sad at times

Ya I here what you are saying....im just wishing to read better threads and insight...or like people posting basically some useful info!

You are right.

We should be excited about backup OL players who look like crap.

We should be excited about the first round LB who made tackles against players who will be happy to make an AFL roster.

We should be excited about our backup QBs stinking.

We should be excited about Wes Welker II's inability to handle a punt.

I agree, I wouldn't say I'm the most hardcore fan to only see the Cowboys through Rose-colored glasses, but I'm not so bad that unless the Cowboys are perfect, they suck. If the team and coaches don't know what their weaknesses are, then we have a real problem. The fact that many of them acknowledge it, shows that they know, and us fans always belly-aching about it does nothing but make trouble for the rest of us who want to enjoy and speculate in the pre-season.

How often will the entire 2nd string OL play together on game day or the entire 2nd unit defense? Pre-season is about individuals not team.

I really don't understand all the overreaction to this game. It's the first preseason game. You can't repeat that enough -- it's the first preseason game. All that really matters is your first teamers looking good (check), your higher draft picks looking good (check) and, far and away the most important, AVOIDING INJURIES (check check).

What is the big deal with some people? If this were Cleveland, I'd understand it more. As it is, I don't get the hand-wringing over an early-August, glorified scrimmage played the majority of the time by guys who won't even be in the NFL in another month.

Wait let them vent and over react it if it makes them feel better; I kind of expected this for the 1st pre-season game since we did no tackling during camp

Plus we have guys that are trying to get a spot and tend to get out of there lanes trying to make a big tackle so they standout on film or for another team

Guys are fighting for a job and as we cut guys down I expect somethings to be tightened up

Post better threads and offer better insight.

It's the only way I have ever seen that hope fulfilled. Otherwise we get a million posts whining about the team and another million whining about the whining about the team.

He is right, its a preseason game and the first at that.

Something tells me this is what you have in mind. FYI, the level of criticism was proportionate to what we saw on the field.

Yes, but those individuals are getting a chance to show something -- and the ones I listed didn't

I'm one of the least sky is falling people on this board. But there are legitimate areas of concern - pretending they don't exist is silly.

backup OL players was one you mentioned and how often will the entire 2nd unit be out there on game day? None guys may come in to substitute and play alongside the starters.

No doubt some guys did not look great I did not see you throw out Adams Jones name but he failed to keep outside containment on one long run by SD and of course a big interference. How about Hamlin with his interference? It is a pre-season game and while there may not be much to write home about it was still nothing more than a pre-season game hell I have seen great Cowboy teams look like crap in the pre-season but they did not prevent them from being great teams. I think some are making a bigger issue out of this game than need be.

If it's all mental, then we were mentally unprepared. That's the whole point of the game? Yeah, right! Apparently, we didn't learn the whole point two years ago when we lost to the Seahawks. Apparently, we didn't learn the whole point when we played the Giants last year.

I mean, seriously? They may have been a bit cocky? What on earth for?

True. Bad things happened in the game .. and we had the audacity to notice. Crazy, huh?

That's all true but that was what we will see on ST for the most part.:ralph:

Other than that we looked not so bad.
