Omg People Stop The Negativity

Yes, but couldn't you make a similar list of things that we should be excited about?

Felix. Jenkins. First team offense. First team defense. Scandrick. Choice. Cricket (Death Stryker One).

It's all about balance... and common sense. We looked like *** last year in the THIRD preseason game (first teams included). You saw the season we had last year.

Balance, bro.

backup OL players was one you mentioned and how often will the entire 2nd unit be out there on game day? None guys may come in to substitute and play alongside the starters.

No doubt some guys did not look great I did not see you throw out Adams Jones name but he failed to keep outside containment on one long run by SD and of course a big interference. How about Hamlin with his interference? It is a pre-season game and while there may not be much to write home about it was still nothing more than a pre-season game hell I have seen great Cowboy teams look like crap in the pre-season but they did not prevent them from being great teams. I think some are making a bigger issue out of this game than need be.

The 2nd unit will rarely be out there all at once -- of course, those 2nd unit guys, if they are out there, aren't going to be playing against 2nd unit D players -- so it cuts both ways.

I'm not making too much of this -- my point was and continues to be a "hey, its all good" attitude isn't reasonable. There are things to be concerned about.

Note that my concerns are generally about guys who have little experience -- Hamlin and Jones are guys that don't need to perform particularly well in pre-season -- but Carp et al don't have that luxury.

The initial thread wasn't balanced - so I was providing some. Bro.

That's all true but that was what we will see on ST for the most part.:ralph:

Other than that we looked not so bad.

I think one you saw some guys on special teams who will not be on the team when the season starts. Right now I think you have some guys eager to make the team and made some mistakes in the process because they were trying to make plays instead of carrying out their assignments. Face it for some of these young players special teams will be their only ticket for a roster spot because I doubt many will be able to crack the starting lineup on a team with the talent we do have. I think we will get a better idea about special teams unit as we move on in pre-season and get to what will likely be the dress rehearsal against Houston

No but the entire unit will not be out there they will be lined up with starting players who are not going to make as many mistakes. OL is not just one on one blocking and if a key starter on the line goes down chances are like most teams some blocking schemes will be altered to provide some help but as a whole unit no they will never be out there together. As I said this is a pre-season game and coaches will go back and work to correct some of the mistakes by some of the less proven players and those who don't get it chances are will not be here.

Ya I here what you are saying....im just wishing to read better threads and insight...or like people posting basically some useful info!

I hear you but in the "Fan" zone we get none of that. It is just people trying to make themselves look cute with their "inside knowledge" of the game when really most of us haven't a clue (which is precisely why we are fans and not actually in the business).

Personally, I am about 10 minutes away from writing off the "fan" zone as all it does is aggrivate the heck out of me with much of the drivel that is posted.

no body is pretending...we are letting the trial stand rather than turning in our guilty votes now just after 1 freaking game.

Somewhere, Adam's ears are ringing.

Clearly you missed the point of my post

I didn't suggest that the team was in trouble -- rather I pointed to several players who didn't do well and are concerns. Unfortunately for many of those guys a handful of games during the preseason is all they are going to get to show they can do something - and if you stink in one game, that's 25% of your evaluation reading "bad" right there

My post wasn't directed towards Adam in the least. He actually is extremely informative in his posts and always has something to actually add.

I just get frustrated with the group that likes to pretend that their "abilities" to evaluate talent are superior to our coaching staff. How people can post such nonsense with such conviction at times is baffeling.

Post positive threads and constructive threads.
and hold hands and sing Kumbaya. How boring of a forum would that be?

Some of us just get mad and ***** when we watch sports, you know, sore losers and all that. Not all of us can be Texas Stadium type fans.

I don't know why there are posters that are negative 99% of the time. Sometimes I wonder if they are even Cowboy fans..........

That was also what was said before last season. Our ST hurt us bad.
I hope we don't pull a ST repeat.

That's the fun in being a fan.
