On a scale of 1-10 how confident are you in Anthony Brown?

Straight forward question. How much confidence do you have in the guy we are relying on to essentially be our #1 CB.

After watching him in preseason I'm probably only at about a 5. I think he belongs more as a 3rd CB/slot guy then he does trying to cover stud WR's on the outside.

5 to 6. I had big hopes for him coming off a strong finish to the 2016 season but from most reports he's been just OK in camp. Hopefully he's just one of those guys that when the lights come on, he plays better than he practices.

7.

While I'm excited for the young guys at CB, glad we have some vets to ease them/challenge them for playing time.
Keep Brown and the gang hungry.

I'm at a 7. I'm confident he'll be a good player in Dallas for the next 3-5 years. BUT I do still see the need for Dallas to draft a CB high.

Talk to me after 3-4 games...

I would of said an 8 going into TC, but I am not so confident now that it looks like NC is starting over him.

I will go with 6.5 for now.

5.5...he didn't look great in his limited preseason time. Hopefully, some of that was due to the fact that he had a hamstring injury early in camp (like most of our young corners).

Again, and I know some will rip me for this, I wouldn't necessarily assume that Carroll starting means much.

Rod tends to like his vets and their leadership. Rod and the defensive staff have had a hard on for Carroll for a couple offseasons, seeing something in him that most other don't see. Carroll might only be out there because Rod wants his vet presence out there and that he has a blind spot for Carroll.

If 7 out of 10 is passing...I'm a 7. But just barely. If think he played excellent last year. But if his play doesn't improve this year, I'll think he'll struggle. I'm much more worried about the "book" on him than I am Dak.

8 i believe in the player, the system scares me more. We give way to much cushion
Yeah we have seen a bunch of corners come through here....I'm not so sure it's the players as it is the system. This system wants and allows teams to rack up passing yards against us and not generate turnovers. A lot of cushion and not much aggressiveness.

7.

I think he's good enough right now to play how Maranelli wants him to play. Don't give up big plays and just keep everything in front of you.

With little consistent pass rush, the plan seems to be stop the run, don't give up big plays in the passing game, hold teams to FGs and hope our offense can control the clock and score at a high clip.

It worked last year but I wonder if that's a model that can consistently work year to year.

7 I think Brown played solid ball as a rookie and I expect him to improve with a year under his belt.

Since he's been exceptional in the past, I'm willing to give A. Brown a pass for being less than perfect during the preseason. Of course, if he fails to perform admirably soon and in the beginning of the regular season, there's always room to reconsider. Other than that, I'm expecting him to work himself into better form and improve greatly upon a less than impressive preseason showing. In due time, I trust he'll return to being his old self.
