I'll be cursing his family tree on draft day.
"The Cowboys spend their first pick on Amari Cooper for a 1 year, 15mil contract."
Cowboys plan on extending his contract. This was not a 1 year deal then move on. Cowboys have found a very talented player in Cooper and fully expect him to be here for a while

Part of the benefit of a 1st round draft pick is their rookie contract. Extending him has nothing to do with the traded pick. You could have sought him or anyone else out in free agency at that rate.
They traded a 1st round draft pick for a rental when it was clear it wasn't going to put this team over the top. You can argue that there wasn't going to be a free agent in the draft or in free agency and they felt compelled, but that was their own doing when they released Bryant.
I'm not mad that they released Bryant, but the reality is that I would rather have him and our first round pick than Cooper.

I don't understand this though. Cooper is a top 5 WR talent...at least he is in my opinion. Coupling him with Gallup makes a pretty darn good WR tandem. To your point, we would probably have a higher first round pick if Cooper was not acquired via trade, but the trade was successful. We were a better team with Cooper and he IS a game changer. I don't see anyone in this draft that would have the same impact as Cooper has and will at our pick.
I get that but the main reason is to bring in talent. As we know not all draft picks pan out not even top rated college kids. You continue to call him a rental when Cowboys have already said they have every intention of getting Cooper under a contract so they did not get him as a so called rental and saying it would not put them over the top? it gave them a chance going from 3-5 to start the season to a 10-6 record and a playoff win along the way. As for keeping Bryant and having our 1st that is your view, myself given how Bryant had played the year before and the distractions he was starting to cause I had no issue releasing him
It don’t help when you have a important coach out for a few days doing interviews during the prep week for the biggest game of the year.Funny how it only happened in the playoffs. Well in the indy game also but I still blame coaching. Adding talent means nothing if the gameplan blows.
This WR draft class has some interesting prospects - we gave up a first for a first round pick that flopped with his initial team and was STILL inconsistent with us.
Cooper also has a history of having bad hands, historically bad actually. In the long term, this trade will look worse and worse.
Cooper didn't flop with the Raiders. 2 thousand yard seasons and a Pro Bowl? Hardly. Maybe not up to the draft pick status but not a flop either.
He did come with a questionable hands warning but there was no sign of it last year at all. He seemed pretty sure handed to me.
He had two seasons where he led the league in drops - he was incredibly inconsistent. Both of these things led to him being traded before his rookie deal was over.
If that's not flopping, I have no clue what is.
Whether they re-sign him is irrelevant. When he re-signs it will be as a free agent or a free agent to be.
They went 9-7 with Dez Bryant in 2017 and 10-6 without him. Sounds like a significant change worthy of losing a first round draft pick.
And two years where drops weren't an issue. He also had two years of over a thousand yards receiving and he played in a Pro Bowl.
I wish my draft pick flops accomplished those things.
You're telling half the story to fit your agenda. Tell the whole story.
I would give up a 1st for Cooper today based on his play. Once he got to Dallas his numbers were within the top 10 WR in the league. As for Dez his play and attitude was not worth it. I'm sure you will not agree and that is fine, your entitled to your opinion.
