So you would have taken Pough at 19 like the Giants did?

Funny how he is not even listed as a first rounder on half the mocks on the net
I agree
Pugh was as bad or worse of a pick at 19 as Frederick was at 31.

No, you just didn't like the contingency...

Which was panic trade and reach?

How could anyone not like that contingency plan

Since Vaccaro was apparently the Cowboys last option for staying at #18, would you rather the Cowboys have taken him if he had fallen to them or what they actually did last night?

I would have prefered Vacarro, I think the guy is gonna ball. A lot of people aren't fans of his because he didn't run a 4.4 or get 10 picks in college, but he's a gifted athlete that played on a very average collegiate defense.

I fully expect his int numbers to rise, but even more than that, he's a leader and covers a lot of ground. For me, Vacarro would have hit the perfect sweet spot between need and BPA. Alas, it was not meant to be.

LaCanfora said he reported that the two players we wanted at 18 were Vacarro and Richardson. We must have been pretty sure one would be there... Then they weren't.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. The trade was not a panic trade. They had been talking to San Francisco for several weeks about the possibility of trading down, depending on how the draft fell.

If you feel that the trade was not for value, fine argue that they got poor value on the trade. I personally would have preferred a little more value, but I am not going to get into a big fuss over 80 points on the draft value board....

If you don't like a certain player at a certain point, fine that is your prerogative. Everyone has different opinions.

But to say it was a panic trade, is absolutely positively WRONG.

Yeah, I'm really surprised all we got for the move down was 74. The 49ers have plenty of picks and they needed a safety. We should have been able to sweet talk a 5th, 6th or at least a 7th into the package.

This!! JJ is not the negociator he thinks he is. I think he left later picks on the table and could have gotten 1 or two later picks or even a 2014 with the 3rd rounder. When he was in the PC afterwards he was asked several times about it and just said "I wanted that 3rd rounder and we got it" as if he didn't even attempt to bargain. Esp with a team that has a tone of picks left.
I think JG's and Ciscowskis body language was evident of this after the trade. JJ was obviously over his head and 9ners were taking candy from a baby.
What's done is done but just another situation where JJ's ego/ignorance hinders this team as a "GM". The only real positive he had was talking about was his stadium being used for the NCAA championship.
