LT, Jammall Lewis, and Edgerrin James are the only RB picked in the top 10 from 1995-2005 that have not busted.

C Willimas, Cedric Benson, Thomas Jones, Ron Dayne, Ricky Williams, Curtis Enis, and Lawrence Phillips all busted.

Ronnie Brown gets a pass because he finally showed some flashes last year.

You want to go through all the busts' carries in their final season?

I wouldn't consider Ricky Williams a bust. He played well, when he played. Thomas Jones isn't a bust either, and had a pretty good career with the Bears. Ron Dayne was an alright player. But none of these running backs are on the same level as McFadden, even from a combine perspective number, let alone performance on the field. Plus, these running backs all played on pretty average teams in the NFL, and McFadden, if he plays for the Cowboys, will not be.

But I think the issue is whether the carries will impact McFadden or not. It is kind of amusing, because most people use to argue that McFadden was simply a home-rin hitter, who profted off big holes being created for him.

Are you saying they busted because of their workload in college??

That's the OP's concern.

If you think DMac might bust for some other reason, that's fine. But his number of carries in college shouldn't have any impact for quite some time. He's got plenty of tread left on his tires. I'll take 6-7 great years even if that's all we get.

PS: I'm assuming you forgot about Adrian Peterson

Sorry for the 7th selection of the draft Thomas Jones has busted. 800 yards a year on sub 4 YPC for a top 10 pick doesnt cut it.

Ricky Williams busted for personality reasons but that is not a pass. Ask the Saints if they would like to redo that pick.

And as for production/measurables. These guys more than match up. 40 time isnt everything and Curtis Enis was a freak in terms of size, speed, agility ratio.

And Peterson has only played one year and he once again missed time due to injury. The jury is still out.

McFadden took a crazy beating on his carries. His teammates were always chasing him down in the endzone and smacking his helmet, shaking his shoulder pads, jumping on him. It was brutal.

Darren McFadden is only 20 years old.

Just so I'm clear, you're saying you would hesitate to draft him because he might wear down after only 8 Pro Bowl seasons.

Gotcha...
One of the hosts on NFL Network (the big fat one, I don't know his name :D ) said that DMac reminded him of Earl Campbell, which he said wasn't good because Campbell wore down fast. I, for one, would take Earl Campbell in a heart beat. The Dmac haters are really starting to reach w/ their arguments.

Ha,ha some of you guys take this Mcfadden thing way too seriously. I just threw out a scenario and see if you thought if there was any credeance to it and some of you guys get insulted.(lol) Most backs as said have been busts. Taking a back high is risky and all Im saying is all avenues should be brought up.

abc: You really think the Raiders can afford another 50-60 million dollar deal? They have Gallery, Russell, Hall, Walker, Tommy Kelly(8 for 50), Kwame Harris, and for this year Asigmoude{however you spell it} with huge money. Throw in say a McFadden for another 60 million, thats alot. I dont think that would be insulting. 22nd , next years 1st and probably another pick. This is only if they deem they cant afford a high pick this season. If they deem they can then most likely they do not do this trade.
