I can't help but wonder how good Herschel would have been if he'd been in the I his entire career. And if he'd never had to share the load with Tony.

JJ- too much weight up top destroyed his balance; I think he lost some quickness as well. Then BP got inside his head and with an introvert like JJ he screwed him up. You got to have a certain kind of personality to cope with BP and I think BP did not figure that out untill the damage was done.

Same old BS song, and you're still wrong.

Why did JuJo go "Downhill"? Teams figured him out. Plain and simple. He didn't get too big, no one "got in his head" :)rolleyes:), the stars didn't misalign ruining his chi, etc...

Teams figured him out. It's that simple.

:hammer:

People talk about how Minny screwed up by trading for him. BS. They screwed up by making him run an offense that was the worst possible offense he could be in. If they had ran him out of the "I", they might have won a superbowl.

Or maybe it was the fact that our coaches decided to never call runs to the outside for him. Or the fact that our coaches decided to have a power running game even though he is a cut back guy. 90% of his big runs were off tackle or counters and then we stopped doing those all together.

That video was very cool, and I remember tons of those runs having seen them as they happened, but what I come away from, most, from this is...

What the heck happened to THAT JJ? Man the kid had talent at one point...I wish I knew why he couldn't recapture it while he was here.

they put Julius Jones in the vid but no Duane Thomas or Don Perkins?

Julius had some good games for Dallas, but i wouldnt include him on a video like this.

I was surprised by neither of them being on here, or Preston Pearson either. All of those would have been real good backs to have shown as well.

I'm not buying that. The back in those videos had an entirely different mindset than the Julius of the last couple of years. He was looking to make things happen, and ran like he KNEW he could. On the video, when he ran into the pile he popped it outside and made teams pay. He showed none of that ability the last two seasons. I don't know what the main factors are, but I'm pretty sure that teams "figuring him out" is not one of them.

No kidding. A guy once told me his USFL rushing record was bogus, I think that's ignorant. You don't neeze at production like that.

If he had stayed at Georgia or gone straight to the NFL, run as the feature back in an I formation, that guy might have been in the conversation about the best ever.

To this day one of the most physically gifted RBs I ever saw.
