Game is on!!! GLP VS CRC......whoever that is. No hd though :(

Weird finally seeing the game. Looks really odd to be honest....stands look really really bland...man I hope they sprewse it up a bit...and really odd seeing nothing but field level sweats from the ground level. From these angles you get minimal view of crowds in the background. Hopefully this is just a soccer angle.

They haven't shown the video board once. That thing is way up there. As far as the corners go, as long as a right footer kicks from left of the goal, and a lefty on the other...there is plenty of room to kick....maybe not plenty, but enough to get a short running start to the kick.

USA wins again.

Good game tonight but we should've blown them out.

LOL at the guy picking up the ball and running with it. What a horrible job officiating.

was it as bad as this?

The field looks like it BARELY meets the requirement. There's like no space near the corners. Hopefully something can be done later on to the lower area to create more space otherwise the Cowboys Stadium probably won't be hosting a world cup.

Dallas isn't a big enough city to be hosting a world cup. If it comes back to the US, it's probably going to San Fran/LA/Atlanta/NYC.

Just showed Haiti/Mexico coming out of the side tunnel together...will both football teams do this or is the visiting locker room some place else?

The stands look packed! Now to see how loud this stadium gets.

Atlanta? You ever been here? Atlanta is tiny compared to Dallas. The actual population of the city of Atlanta is less than 1/2 of Dallas, and if we are counting metro areas, the DFW metroplex beats the Atlanta metro area by over a million people. Also, pretty much the only people that care about soccer beyond the youth level here are immigrants.

On a side note, I don't know jack about soccer, but I was absolutely riveted by the world cup matches for some reason....AC Milan is playing in Atlanta this wed. and I've got tickets to go..will be my first soccer experience. Pretty excited.

There's no standard length and width to the pitch. Narrow fields make the game way less fun.

.

You must really hate baseball then since there is no standard size to their fields, either.

It was cool to see the new stadium on TV while watching the soccer match. The place looks incredible. I can't wait to watch a football game played there. It is going to be fantastic.

How do you figure? Dallas did just fine as one of the host sites back in 1994 when games were played at the Cotton Bowl.

Dallas is bigger than Atlanta. Dallas is also catching up with San Francisco in population as people flee the high costs of California.

Dallas and Chicago will be included as host sites if the World Cup ever comes back to the U.S.. Both are major cities that are centrally located within the country. There is an appeal to both cities.

i dotn think so, they hosted a game in the 94 world cup and my dad went and he claims it was the best game of the world cup (i think he said it was the netherlands vs brazil?)

i went to that game too at the cotton bowl.

Netherlands/Brazil quarterfinals. Brazil won 3-2. Dennis Bergkamp is one of my favorite players so it was sweet to see him score even if netherlands lost.

and the place was freaking packed. I think the US still has the record for highest attendance for a world cup.
