What WR's does KC have that are 2 of the 5 highest paid????

In 2020 Tyreke Hill was #3 and Sammy Watkins was #5 on the list. https://overthecap.com/position/wide-receiver/2020/
Watkins' contract ended this year so he won't be on the list in 2021 and with D-Hop and Coop's deals entering their higher ranges Hill will drop to #6 in 2021. Also I just noticed that Kelce was only #2 at tight end in 2020 but he jumps to #1 in 2021 .

I think it’s going to take two more drafts before we get a roster of guys that fit the mold especially on D. The guys we have were drafted purely as a scheme fit and I see no way we’re successful with two LBers who are playing by flag football rules.

Two more drafts, yeah I agree. Even the "Dirty Dozen" draft class took that long to get to the SB, and that was a loaded draft class if there ever was one...

No knock on Mahomes from me the guy is amazing and I would love to have him on our team but he is in a great situation in KC. He has weapons on offense and an offensive minded coach who is second to none. Furthermore their defense and special teams have been good to great at takeaways and no team has more non-offense touchdowns than the Chiefs.

Regardless, UFN you still should draft your QB in the first. They are a RARE talent and commodity.

60% of 1st round QBs flop or have poor careers.
20% have ok careers
20% have stellar careers.

Two first round picks is not nearly enough to jump in the Vegas casino called Draft Your Next QB.
What is the percentage of qbs drafted after the 1st rd that have good or stellar careers or even have fair ones...I'll take my chances on a 1st rd qb any day.

My question to you is when was the last time our D stepped up and played dominantly like the Bucs’ D did in the SB? Or held strong in the waning moments of a game? Dak has never had the support on both sides of the ball than the past super bowl winners of the past 10 years. Heck, Wilson had one of the top ten defenses of all time when they won. I am not saying Dak is better than any of these guys but he needs the same level of support on both sides of the ball that they got.
The problem with the D is there hasn't been any thoughtful acquisition of outstanding players. Gambling on previously hurt players is not the way to field a championship team. Spending lower round picks on players is not the way either. The Cowboys HAVE to draft carefully, bringing in quality players through FA AND the draft, or they'll never sniff the playoffs again.

Well that's the trick, isn't it? But I have to ask (not disagreeing with your post) - is there ANY reason to believe the Cowboys can do that?

Exactly.. it's not meant to be a knock on Mahomes that he has great teammates. Fans with half a brain realize that every player needs great teammates to achieve ultimate success.. Yet somehow some of these alleged Cowboys fans are mad about our wanting to surround Dak with as many great teammates as possible. As if it somehow is proof that he's not any good. There is zero logic to that argument. But that doesn't stop them from making it. Nor does it stop them from looking stupid in doing so.

We've seen 4.5 years of Dak. Nothing but stats-most of which were from playing when behind or vs flex defenses in garbage time. When do you call it quits on a guy? 9 years? 10? We did that with Garrett and how did that work out. He can't beat good teams.
We're doomed to 8-8 if he signs. Again.
Zeke was Jerry's 1st mistake and he needs to learn from it.

This is a popular, but not factual statement. There has been some of that, but people are taking a small, and selective sample size and projecting across Dak's entire time in the NFL, and that's not accurate. There have been plenty of games where he had big stats in wins and/or close games.

In the games this past season before Dak got hurt, the offense was moving the ball and scoring in the first half of - not just in the 2nd half after the defense had given up a lot of points. The differential between 1st half and 2nd half scoring was minimal.

Well, that IS the question. They have done an outstanding job of bringing in excellent offensive players. Why this can't bleed over to the defense is puzzling, to say the least.

Well, Dak might be right (see what I did there LOL) ..dat might be right because I looked at complete stats on him by situation and everything you could imagine, by halfs quarters, the entire lot and nothing really stuck out except a few more 4Q passing attemps but nothing major.
That aside, we still need an interior D Line AND O Line with names like "Engine Block," "Transmission," and "Boxcar," "Gorgeous George," and "Fritz Von Erick reincarnated," and a Center named "Fire Hydrant."
No matter who is at QB, games are always won in the trenches. We need a rebuild there badly. Or WRs are fine. RBs are fine. Gilbert should do just fine as backup. I liked him against the best D in the NFL when we played PIT - lots of heart and cool and collected.
