Durde interviewed yesterday, and Zimm and Rivera today. One has never been a DC, the other hasn’t been one in 14 years, and the other in 10 years

While I realize it’s late in the process, that’s the only 3 candidates these Bozo’s could come with? In all the NFL, and college football landscape?

very short sighted, but they made their bed by saying this year is “the year”…….
The whole interview process is a sham. Mike wanted to promote Whitt, but Jerry wants to bring back Zimmer. This is how Jerry gets his way. That’s all there is to it.

There’s a reason we started seeing and hearing Zimmer’s name in the Dallas media all the way back in December. McCarthy never had a choice.

I'm surprised he is interviewing 3....... thought it would just be Zimmer coming into town and signing his contract. Jerry just wants to make it look like he is actually working.

I'm not sure why this is such a source of concern. It's not as if Rivera and Zimmer haven't been successful D-Coordinators in the NFL. In fact, having been successful D-Coordinators is what got them the opportunity to be head coaches.

I know some will argue they weren't successful as head coaches, although both actually did have at least some moderate success (Rivera actually got to the Super Bowl), but it's been proven that a high quality coordinator doesn't necessary translate to a high quality head coach. Wade Phillips, who failed as head coach in Dallas, is a perfect example of that. He was a very successful D-Coordinator before Dallas, and went right back to being a very successful D-Coordinator after Dallas.

Quinn was the last HC hired, not much out there outside of a few former HC's with defensive background.

Stevie said player acquisition is a 24 /7 process but made no mention on coaching acquisition. I guess we have eyes and can see that end of the spectrum clearly for ourselves.

Broaddus just got a text from Zimm that he’s done with the interview and he couldn’t tell what Mike thought…..meaning he couldn’t read him either way.

Weird

Give Garrett a shot. Maybe he was just coaching “out of position” the entire time.

Just be glad it's not Campo.

Hell, Jerry will probably give Campo an assistant job again.

I think so, but it’s just maddening. While I think Zimm will be fine and probably do as well as DQ, I want better. Or at least explore the landscape.
You expect a exhaustive search after seeing what he did when hiring MM?

He obviously texted Broaddus right after his interview and he said he didn’t know what to think, that he couldn’t read Mike. I think Mike has a lot more say than everyone thinks.
