That used to be the rule, but they changed it for "player safety." So what are they going to do now, change it back?Let them overload one side of the line if you want success rate up
That will never happen because it will take one big hit and a player getting knocked out for fans to then complain about too much violence in a violent sport again.Move the kickoffs back five yards, there's nothing more boring in the NFL than the constant endless touchbacks
This is the goal. Get people to complain about kick offs so they can take them out of the game entirely and just have the team start at the 25. "Player safety"Move the kickoffs back five yards, there's nothing more boring in the NFL than the constant endless touchbacks
Get rid of the kickoff all togetherMove the kickoffs back five yards, there's nothing more boring in the NFL than the constant endless touchbacks
Ahh I like that idea. Seems like an easy fix.Following Greg Zeurlein's successful watermelon kick vs Atlanta teams have coached up the on-sides receiving team all too well. Do not allow receiving team to touch the ball before 10 yards and watch the success rate go up.
I mean they essentially have.Get rid of the kickoff all together
This would be the most obvious solution. They broke it, now they're trying to fix it with patches or gimmicks. Because if they go back, someone in a dress will say they don't care about player safety. So they are not going to put dresses on the KO teams. QB dresses stay exclusive. Which is why they get paid more than ST's players.
I am glad they left it alone. Rather they go back to KO from the 30, and allow overloading to one side. The receiving team can to the same in anticipation to where the kick is going.
That was the creative, exciting aspect\element of the onside kick.Let them overload one side of the line if you want success rate up
Not me because we may need to recover one. One of the greatest comebacks in the history of the Cowboys was during the 2020 season against Atlanta with the aid of a recovered onside kick.i hope not. i like the success of them being closer to 0%.
