An agent works for the player not the organization. Just because a team has mismanaged the cap the player shouldnt pay.

absolutely. I agree. Its a business. I dont exactly have anything bad to say about all that.

What I am saying is, if I am a GM/Coach/Owner, I pass on the CJ type contracts for WR. I want team guys........

Thats how I accomplish my Job. Which is to get the TEAM to a Super Bowl. Some may disagree with that approach, and thats fine. I just think thats the way to go.....

I want TEAM guys. I want guys willing to sacrifice, to get the TEAM to the SB. After all, its a business.

If I were New England or Seattle I'd definately think about it because the picks would probably be late round anyways.

Seattle couldnt handle a contract that size right now with Wilson about get a fully guranteed contract. And NE doesnt write checks for that much money lol unless its for tom brady

I know what he wants, but why should Dallas have to pay for multiple seasons if he gets hurt next year? At least he has made 11m so far and is scheduled to make 13m next year.

Most players in the league are playing on non-guaranteed contracts without a safety net.

TFred could blow out his knee this year and never play again. I bet he would be less unhappy if he made 13m next year. Murray just laid it on the line last year and set team and league records on his non-guaranteed rookie deal. Now no one wants to pay him because he did so much last year.

Why should I care about Dez' future while I'm kicking Murray to the curb?

No I'm not saying either of us should care. I'm just saying the reason he is doing what he is doing is for him.

I agree I don't think any of these guys should be getting what they get.

I'm just just saying If I was a pro player, or even you, you might think about yourself.

These are the things keeping Dez away from the mega payday.
3) He is not T.O.

Bull He is better than T.O.
5) Back problems

Did not come up last year

6) Disappears in games, he can be schemed out of production. The 3 guys up top, could/can not be stopped.

Bull ....... teams schemed those other 3 out of games all the time. We did it to CJ this year and did it to T.O. when we had a nobody on him his last year in SF.

Yeah because we all know that Dez is not a team guy. Hey we can go get a team full of Selvies and have about 70 million in cap space to boot, now that's what you call being financially responsible.

I hear ya. Although I shutter sometimes at the things he does(running on the field without his helmet arguing with refs), I think he is one of the best WRs in the game right now.

But like the author/agent who wrote the article says, and everybody else says and know, its just business.

Well, as a GM/Owner/Coach, I think its bad business to pay that much money for a WR. So, its nothing personal towards Dez or his agents. Its just business.

Its just my opinion as a fan. A long time fan. And I'm not even sure if I'm right. But I would take 2 first rounders and let Dez and that contract he wants......go. wish him luck.

I think Dez is a bit of a pre maddona. Were not talking TO here....but he has a little of that in him. Aand of course he wants to make as much as he can. To hell with the Cowboys and teammates and SB. Of course he does! I would to. But the fans, the other players, the organization, the city of Dallas, They want a SB. Over paying for WRs historically dont put TEAMS, into the SB.

The longer it goes, the more I'll blame Dez for it.

For all of Jerry's faults, one of them is not treating his players unfairly. At some point you have to be a team player and stop chasing every last dollar.
It's fun playing with other folks money isn't it? You think his career will go into the 50's and 60's, or will it end in the next 10 years?

He should NOT be a team player because he gave everything he had for a rookie ****** contract. It's not his job to do anything but play hard. It's Jerry's job to not over pay for a mid range QB, an overrated corner in Carr, and a Tackle that has a hard time handling fast pass rushers. I would hold out if I'm Dez.

Dez is a team guy. remember that finger he played with a few years ago? doctors said he would be out for the season. and that he could do permanent damage. the guy gutten it out and played for his team. tried to help get them to the playoffs. so don't give me this he is not a team player stuff. the man wants his money, and a long term deal.

Murray just did the same thing and took the team on his back for the entire year and we want to reward him by driving him to the airport. At least with Dez they insulted him with 13m.

no, you are right. He is..... He is. He is a team guy and probably the best in the league. I like Dez.

But its business. Putting all your money into one player, is bad business. Maybe there are some teams out there, that have done better managing the cap and their organization and it wouldn't hurt their Team to give Dez "his money".

I think is hurts this team, and franchise, to pay a WR that kind of money. We have to fill some holes on other places so we are a more balanced team..... Dez is a super star. But I believe you can win Super Bowls without a superstar at WR.

It's not the 12 million. it's the one year. the man wants the security of a long term deal. he went out and earned it. and so did Murray. so we agree on that.they need to go on and give Dez a long term deal. pay the man.

You will love it until we start losing again. then you won't love it so much. it's not easy to replace the talents of guys like Dez and Murray.

it's not over for Dez. He may need to get his head out of the clouds and get more reasonable. And from the looks of things the new Cowboy way is to start low. I think Dez gets his deal. Just not what he may have been told or envisioned.

you may very well be right. Heck, I am just a fan....An obsessed fan, but just a fan.

And no its not easy. But as I see it, we have the makings of a Great Wall of Dallas in that offensive line. Smith, fredbeard, martin....they are young....I think we can be a more balanced team if we can get some help on Defense. And thats going to cost money.

And I just think we glorify these guys too much. yes, they are good players.

I believe in culture and coaching and organization. Wrapping up all your money into one guy. a WR. makes building that Deep, solid, balanced roster all that more difficult.....

And maybe Ive seen enough over paid Super Star FAs get all kinds of money from the Dallas Cowboys and produce very very little. Now Dez is home grown. So, I am sure that is factored in , And he is a beast , a team player, fire and soul, etc etc......Its a difficult decision. And really do think they pay him sign him. I dont think they let him go......but Dez will hold out of training camp etc etc..... and all that.

It distracts from the culture I would like to see going forward.
