Just my opinion.
Owens
Glenn
Crayton
Rector
Hurd
Green
Austin (Practice Team)

all make this team.
But no Copper. Yea, yea Special Teams, blah blah blah. I haven't seen enough out of him in the last 3 years to be interested enough in keeping him around.

I have us keeping 5 and dropping Green and Cooper. I've thought the battles would come down to Hurd or Copper and Rector or Green for a little while now.

I have to agree with you Quick. With the added depth those players can contribute on ST. Copper was kept because of ST but at this point I think he is stopping progress.

If we release Green I think it will be a mistake.

I think Copper is gone as well.

Somehow, Green will stick, IMO.

A lot of people wanted to boot Barber last year and also Burnett. Look at how good those guys are playing right now. Some guys take time and PR is not an easy job.

True. Green hasn't wowed anyone yet. But I see the potential there.

Why do you think so?

Gut feeling. The guy is shifty and I watched him at LSU. abersonc has made some really good statistical posts showing he is doing better than some suspect. I am not dismissing the poor game he had against SF. I felt he contributed greatly to the only touchdown SF got.

I have the same feeling about him as I did about Burnett.

I do too and while we might be in the minority we are not alone on that opinion.

I agree, and to be honest, if we bring in another vet, I think Hurd is now on the bubble. I like what we have in Rector even more than in Hurd...personally, I look for Rector to move ahead of Crayton very very early.

We did not have the numbers game problem last year that we have this year...and there was less competition for those guys for their spots. I will be very surprised if Green makes the team. And I agree with QD that Copper will be gone; he put down some sorry plays last night.

Only if Crayton takes too long to get back to form. If he struggles it could be Rectors shot.

I haven't seen him play before this preseason, but what I have seen isn't (not to knock you) all that impressive. In my opinion, he is to one dimensional to make the team.

Yeah, that's my understanding. I think Parcells has mentioned the Rector vs. Green pairing.

At this point, sure seems like Rector is ahead of Green.

Hurd vs. Copper comes down to special teams play. I think Hurd wins if it ends in a tie. -- Just watching the games on TV, very hard to get much of an idea how the two players compare on special teams.

What sux is if we had a kicker that could kickoff, Green wouldn't be in question. I still think he stays, though. He is sure handed and shifty on all returns.

Me too.
Agree entirely.

Hurd might be PS material for his lack of ST.

I think Rector's receving abilities and Watkins ability at the gunner position, make Copper expendable this year.

If you didn't notice, Copper was playing to save his job yesterday.
