I haven't seen him play before this preseason, but what I have seen isn't (not to knock you) all that impressive. In my opinion, he is to one dimensional to make the team.

He had one good run against NO but your right he has not been all that impressive. PR is a hard job though. I would like to see Rector return punts and have success before they cut Green. If he does good the move makes sense but I have no doubt Green will be a good player in the NFL.

B/C of Crayton's injury Rector has moved ahead. Size and ability-wise I take Crayton b/c I have ssen him make some good plays in a real game. Either way we keep Crayton Rector Hurd and Green. Copper is out. He dropped several passes and you can't do that in a dogfight. The other kid is Austin is on the PS.

I think Rector's receving abilities and Watkins ability at the gunner position, make Copper expendable this year.

If you didn't notice Copper was playing for his job yesterday.
Yup.
And Copper never does much at WR.

You can tell he doesn't have much upside in that regard.

He's stuck around this long because he was on par with Davis as a major part of the ST and we had NO depth at WR.

But between bringing in Owens and having these 2 or 3 young guys showing some real potential, he's expendable and should be let go.

Like JJ says, progress stopper.

Copper is definately gone IMO, Green depends on if we keep 6 WRs or not.

We should cut Owens and keep Green.:

The way we've been playing, T.O. will just interfere with the "gel" with all his crying and attention hogging.

My thought I remember Parcells saying he is going to keep 5 recievers
Owens #1
Glenn #2
Crayton #3
Rector #4
Hurd #5
Copper #6
Green Makes it on special teams only
Austin Miles makes the practice squad.

Agreed, I want to see what Rector brings to the plate. Tyson Thompson has shown as much ability on KO's and I don't really see Newman being a viable option at PR. Was Elam bback on any punts last night....didn't he do PRs in college also?

I agree, and to be honest, if we bring in another vet, I think Hurd is now on the bubble. I like what we have in Rector even more than in Hurd...personally, I look for Rector to move ahead of Crayton very very early.

That's an interesting viewpoint. Andl while it's not one I share, I can't say I completely disagree with it either.

we probably won't be keeping 6 WRs since 2 of them won't dress all 16 games, esp. when out of 6 WRs, only 2 can play STs effectively enough

how much emphasis BP places on STs is really muddying this 4th and 5th WR situation

stupid special teams ;)
